Are you sure thats a VG30DET turbo?

My Elbow won't bolt on to the stock elbow that connects to the intake piping.

The comp wheel also looks like it has a step up, which is the style of the rb20??

like i said .. i'm not sure .. to be honest.. i bought it as advertised VG30 turbo

what makes me think its different to the rb20 one is the acutator (similar to yours and the casting numbers on the comp wheel..... but the elbow on the turbo and the dump pipe it came with ...and also the distance between the front of the exh housing and the back of the comp wheel is slightly longer than the rb20 one on my car........ but it almost makes me think its a RB25

so i really dunno ..

Around the inlet from the exhaust manifold, there will be cast numbers or letters on the outside of the housing.

what are they?

on the inside of the compressor outlet it has a 3 .. dunno if thats just a factory thing .. but Cubes vg30 turbo has the same ...... on the exhaust housing .. it has a C that was all ..... were Cubes one has a E and OP6 ....

wasnt told what year it came off..so i dont have anymore info on it to give

The RB25 DET turbo I have here has the folllowing marking

X02A and OP6 on one side

B and OP6 on the other side on the centre of the snail bit, wastegate side

So damn hard to tell really.

The only method via photo's I can tell is from the comp wheel, how it sits in the comp housing.

the print on the rear turbine should read "OP6".

Your pic, it seems that the rear turbine is rb25. I could be wrong but i will post the pics of the r33 and vg30 for comparison as soon as i get the pics.

r33 comp has "45V1, 45V2, etc" correct me if i'm wrong.

but yea its true.. too hard to tell ..from the rear... looks much like cubes..... but dont think they'd be that much different.....

Exhaust housing shoudl have "0286" cast right up near the flange to the manifold.

Just spoke to GCG about it.

does yours have that?

.. doh .. didnt think to look on the front side of the exhaust housing.....

it has 0898 .. the 04U and a 6 or 9 however which way u look at it further around on the snail....

only other marks i could find was a number 1 on the section behind comp and exh housings..

man these things are confusing.

Cubes .maybe u can give me some pacific measurements of diameters of the exhaust hosing ..might be easier ?

The one that Zoom has is definently the right one.

I'll be taking that for sure.

I'll continue the hunt though, as I know lots of people want them.
