oil change - R32 gtr, did i overfill?

Ive just done oil change for the first time on a R32 gtr. Its a freakin pain in the ass to get to that filter!. I ended up getting this socket attachment that has 3 claws to grip and turn the filter and it worked a treat.

Anyways its all back together now and my oil pan is showing 5L of oil came out of the engine. I put 4.5 Litres back in and checked the dipstick but its got oil 3/4 of the way up the dipstick.

I took it out of my driveway to a level surface and still the same. wtf? I read somewhere that rb26 takes the best part of 5L.

Wondering if i should drive it tonight or wait till tomorrow and check it again.

RB26 takes 4.8litres, i usually put 5ltrs in, and it usually reads 'max' on the dipstick, not sure what you've done - did you drain all the oil out hte first time? usually best to leave it for half an hour or more draining.

After you finish driving, let it sit for a while first. While you're driving, oil moves around, and it'll go up the stick. let it sit say 15-20minutes. then wipe the stick first, then check.

Keep in mind that when you change oil, you will not get out 5 L. There will always be some left. 3.5 is probably a bit little though.
