my skyline is due for rego soon as it only had 3 months put on it when i bought it. it was complianced and registered by the dealer i bought it from but when i got one of the guys from work to check it over for rego he said he didn't know what to right in the compliance date section as it is not fitted with an aus compliance plate. it has the new VIN number plaque on the firewall but do i just put the month of this year for when it was complied or not. plus i found a document about compliance plates on the rta site that said vehicles 15 years or older do not require a compliance plate. im sure everyone else has been in this situation with an import before so what did u do?

thanks

All imported vehicles require a compliance plate. The old 15year imports use the same VIN number as in Japan but SEVS complied cars are issued with a new VIN number.

15y.o cars have a modification plate to say that the car complies with Australian Design Rules

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

every car is issued a new VIN in NSW. it will be the old 'chassis number' plus 6U9000. ie. 6U9000BNR32002356.

i cannot speak about what is required by law, but i do know that my 15yo GTR had a plate fitted during compliance.

yeah i got the new VIN number and on my rego it says at the bottom (modified as per engineers certificate number blah blah blah) does anyone know where i can get a copy of this certificate or can anyone check their rego papers and just tell me what is written in the compliance date section. cheers
