Dashboard Cracking? Does this happen like some other dash's?

Hi Skliner's, wasup in the mofo.....hem,.... anyways!!

Is anyone currently experiencing (or had) any signs that the centre of their dash is starting to (even very slightly) crack? Are the R33 Coupes prone to this? (only interested in this particular model variant).

Just noticed (and it could well have been there since day dot) 2 small lines (appx 2-3mm across but not all all deep) well above the center vent. Could just be a production fault or tiny scratches.

I saw this once on my Charger, and that seemed to be the beginning of the end of that dash!! I'm worried!!

I don't use and will never use any chemical 5hit on my dash, just water and a clean cloth. Always protected from sunlight too!!

So, have you guys heard or seen this happen?

I have never seen or heard about R33 dash cracking. I know 32's have a problem with their dash, but nothing about a 33.

People should pretty much pour armour-all or some sort of plastic/vinyl protecter all over their dash. That might help stop this gotta love chemicals !!

I have read in numerous places that Armourall can do more harm than good: if you don't keep replenishing the Armourall it actually promotes the cracking process as it dries out.

The best products are non-silicone based. Autobarn have a non-silicone based, uv-protectant solvant, don't know the name, just ask for it by discription.

Armour-all is the worst! Stop using it and the silicone shrinks cracking the surface it was applied to.

yeah, I hate Armour all, it' ruined a couple of my cars, till I figured it out. Warm soapy water for that non 'ricey' look. So R33 dash's are ok then?
