Hi All,

Due to a change in plans (and condition of my car :)) I am selling my brand new Blitz Nur-Spec GT-R Front Pipe.

blitz_pipe_small.jpg

It was bought for me as a gift awhile ago and I had hoped to use it, but my car has developed some issues I need to address so this has to go unfortunately. Its completely new, in box: I only unpacked the front-pipe for some photos and prior to that it was still all wrapped up from the factory.

I have posted some nice pictures up: click here to view them.

Its a Blitz Nur-Spec Front Pipe (Part No. 21554) which is the current Blitz model. The Blitz JP website has almost no details, except a link to this PDF. There is also the Blitz US website. As you can see from the photos, it is absolutely new and unused.

Some of the features which I think are nice/important:

  • Quality stainless steel construction.
  • Japanese brand, not a cheap chinese or australian knockoff.
  • Suitable for R32, R33 and R34 GT-Rs.
  • Big piping: 2 x 70mm --> 1 x 80mm piping. With the exception of a few esoteric brands/models, that's about as large as you get.
  • Strong welds so they shouldn't crack like the cheapies do.
  • A lot of care has been taken to reduce air turbulence by having a really smooth surface on the inside (see the photos).
  • Incorporates a flex joint so it doesn't transmit stresses and vibration to the turbos and dump pipes.
  • Includes all the relevant gaskets and nuts/bolts

Edit: Sold.

:)

Lucien.

    • I definitely agree with you there - I never click on content for cars I would never ever be able to get or compete with/against/be seen next to. Seeing a MX5 compete with a FD RX7 will make people upset though, for sure. Even in 2.5L Turbo form which is pretty grass roots. (or at least as grass roots as classic cars can be) Yes we're all classic car owners now.
    • Wonder what the cause is, but here's hoping it's nothing too serious.
    • People don't always want builds that are overly expensive, or have engineering/registration/insurance issues and head aches that come with them Whilst big dollar builds, and complicated stuff is interesting to watch, there is only a tiny % of people who would actually use this information, or have the spare finances to drop on said builds, whereas the buy a cheap(ish) cool car, and make it better, with a average budget, that the average Joe or Jane could achieve will always be a winner in my opinion
    • Bit of a thread revival, you mentioned wanting a bit more top end before, do you regret not going with the 1.01?
    • It's kind of interesting - They definitely do builds that split the difference between what they like and what will generate views and engagement. The NC Platform always surprises everyone in a good way, in an uncomfortably good way some may say. They could throw a LS in there and arguably have the best (and best performing) car of the entire stable. But that isn't necessarily what draws views, because people viewing don't want to accept the vegetables of a LS NC MX5 being a superior vehicle in every way (including fun) than a RB26 240Z. This is also why there's not a lot of content about the GR Yaris (on the web in general). They're too good, yet 'only a Yaris' The community doesn't want certain cars to be as good as they are - to beat their hero cars, and I believe the NC MX5 is absolutely one of those cars.
