Has anyone heard of thermal spacers?

Do they really work?

This mob makes 'em

This is the email I got after emailing them

Ed,

We do not currently offer an application for the Skyline engines. We

generally request 20 firm commitments prior to the design, prototyping, and

production of a new performance part. Pricing for a set, including intake

manifold and throttle body insulators along with necessary hardware such as

lengthened studs would be in the $100 range.

To prototype a new set, we generally prefer to have acces to a full

vehicle. This will allow us to investigate fit-up issues and to do a before

and after dyno test to asses performance increase. In this case, due to the

rarity of Skylines in the U.S, I'm sure we could work something out.  Please

asses the interest for your group and let us know.

Best regards,

Sean Morgan

This sort of thing has been around for ages for use on old school carb engines and they are proven on engine dynos to make more power as they are said to help cool the air and fuel as it helps keep the engine/intake heat away from the carb.

Though i know you can go to big with these on n/a engines as when my 308 was on the dyno it mad more power with a 1"open space then without but lost power with a open 2".

Im not sure how this would work on a turbo engine but i would think the size wouldnt really effect it but i would tend to think larger would be better as air is forced into the engine.

I know these are for cabs but take a look at the links anyways if you want.

Hey ed im not sure who would sell them in oz.

But the only way to find out with these sorta things is to start calling all the performance shops you can find cause the chance is someone will know someone that might do it if not they may be able to tell you where to go to get one made up.
