Twisted chassis?

Hi guys.

Hypothetically, if a car has a bent tailshaft, but there's no vibration while driving. Gear 4 wont stay in unless you hold it in, and the clutch rubs on the side of the footwell, could that mean the car has a twisted chassis?

I know it's hard to guess just with this info.

Just replacing the tailshaft with a one piece, or even a stock item probably won't fix will it?

Take the hypothetical car to a mechanic and put it up on a hoist.

or even better throw it on a jig at a smash repairer. I can't see how a bent tailshaft could *not* cuase vibration though, it must be out of balance.

How can the clutch rub against the side of the foot well? or do you mean clutch pedal?

Sounds pretty stuffed, stay away from the car no matter how cheap it is, will cause nothing but trouble.
