Just wanted 2 raise the issue of communication during cruises.

Since most of the problems I have encountered on previous runs revolve around directions, traffic lights and becoming separated from the group etc...

If we could all decide on which walkie talkie UHF tranceiver to buy, we could keep in constant contact with each other.

I have seen a Uniden model at DSE for under $100

Does anyone know which type would suit us?

I reckon they're a great idea. The cruise I went on in QLD had one at the front with slip, who organised the cruise, and another one at the back. We had about 20 Skylines and we stayed together for the whole cruise which went for at least 6 hours.

If anyone got stuck at traffic light etc, we just waited up ahead for the rest of the pack.

I'm from Qld.. And the $99 one from dickie smiths is the shit..

Its just enough to use when cruising and isn't too expensive... Make sure you get the $99 cause it uses AA batteries...

Up here its $1 for a 4 pack from Super Cheap. They last around a week even using it during the week. So if your only gonna use it on the weekends, it will probably last 2 weeks.

The $99 one also has the scan function which the $79 one doesn't and the $79 one takes AAA...

But its definetly the way too go.. Especially if you get one car ahead... one car behind to watch for cops etc..
