Used Cooler Piping.. to buy or not to buy?

Hey,

Just wanted to get your thoughts on whether to buy used cooler piping or not..why or why not..?

Its significantly cheaper so if its not too bad then i might go through with the sale.

It's cheaper. I'd buy it as long as if it's good quality piping. That is, if it's aluminium, or stainless. Mildsteel or cast iron is crap rubbish.

It has to be in good condition as well. E.g. no major dents, and no holes.

I'd replace the silicon/rubber joins though if they are looking old and sad

also with new joins and a clean up on the pipes will look like new.

Is it brand name piping?

Can't see why not, unless the reason that its cheap is because its a nasty piece of work or it's been FUBAR'd.

So if it looks ok and the price is good for what you are getting, then I say go for it.

PS I don't consider mild steel to be crap rubbish.

yeah thats what i was thinking..

its aluminium as well so should all be good

Mild steel does its job for exhausts, but picture this. you have 15 year old mild steel pipes, which have rusted significantly. the rust is flaking and being sucked into the engine. Not pretty.
