Upgrading Injectors in an RB20

Hey!

I have an Rb20 in an s13, just had it tuned and the injectors are maxing out if we go any higher the 11psi.

I have have been looking around and basically read that r32 GTR injectors are a good budget upgrade for the rb20.

Just wondering 2 things:

1. will I need anything else to put them in?? fuel rail etc..??

2. How much $$ would I be looking at in total??

(already upgraded fuel pump)

you will need a resistor pack or to wire resistors in series with the injectors as the impeadance will not suit the rb20 ecu (i assume you are using an rb20 ecu)

injectors should cost $200 - $250

clean and flow test $100 (never put un cleaned and tested injectors in.

gtr resistor pack $50 - 100

it ends up being a fairly expensive process budget $450 + tune

rx7 series 5 injectors are the correct inmedance if i remember correctly.

you can pick them up for like $25-35 each

I probably should of mentioned im running a EMS Stinger ecu..

So will I still need the resistor pack?

How many cc are the rx7 injectors?

do they bolt straight in though? i though the plugs needed modification

If you have a Stinger then go the GTR injectors. They plug in as tough they were std injectors, no changes to plugs etc like the RX7 jobbies. Also when i was lookign the RX7 injectors were more like $500-600:(

Depends on what power level your after as well, The GTR injectors are at about 78% on mine with 234rwkws and std fuel reg

Find out with the EMS dealers if there unit can support high and low impedance injectors without needing to change any software/hardware.

I had GTR injectors ( low impedance ) with an aftermarket ecu and recently changed to high impedance injectors and the ecu needed the injector drivers changed to suit.
