Ok, latest update on the Panel upgrade:

K&N panel filter (part no. 33-2031-2) went into the stock air box tonight (yes tonight. couldn't wait)...

Reset the ECU as instructed below; didn't even need to turn on any lights or press the brakes to get rid of remaining charge cause there was none (but did so anyway) - Stock ECU reset!

Then proceeded to replace factory filter with brand spankin new K&N unit... few wipes of the cloth, re-attach the airbox unit and voila!

Took the car out for a nice, hard drive - from Frenchs Forest to Belrose, to St Ives and back... total of about 20km averaging 100kmh (whoops)

Got back home and parked the car - but whilst sitting in it while revving in neutral I noticed a difference (more below)...

PERFORMANCE INCREASE:

As stated by most of you, yes there is a performance increase... of how much I can't really say but it is definitely noticable (I've got an Tiptronic so gear changes aren't as drastic)... would really like to know if there is anything else I should do to help this out?

THE ISSUE:

Revving the car in either Park or Neutral produces this weird phenomenon - the needle goes up to about 5k then drops back down to 1.5k all smoothly.

However, at 1.5k it seems to jolt slightly and pause before dropping back to 900 (normal idle)... There is both a visible jolt, a sound jolt and I dare say some jolt in the way the revs are really going down! Is this normal?

Overall I am quite happy with the upgrade... any comments or opinions on where I go next? Bear in mind that this is still pretty stock (apart from mods in signature)

Thanks everyone for all the assistance!

Well hopefully this little problem goes away... maybe after some more driving so the ECU adapts even better to the new filter (Sunday's cruise should be perfect)

Adam, should I go cat-back or turbo back...

I have an HKS offer for a cat-back system for $300, the turbo back system would have to be from a retailer so it'll cost about $1k

In that case, should I just go for the HKS system and then go for a Front Pipe? That's what you're saying right?

NOISE FACTOR FOR PANEL:

I've noticed that there is a bit more noise, but it's primarily got to do with the turbo "wooshing" - nothing extreme!
