Hay guys i bought my car and its been a month or so should be on the boat hehe =)

its a 180sx 97 model and yesterday i was looking at the pic and i have no idea what some of the things in there are ?

appreicate all your help =)

Hmmm...to me, showing through the steering wheel is some sort of Trust Greddy Boost Controller (possibly Profec B)... on the other side it looks more like a turbo timer.

Possible aftermarket ECU yeah, but just because the cover is off doesn't mean too much. Just could be something like the turbo timer or other device attached to it.

Going on the Razo sticker and the pedals they are aftermarket Razo pedals too.

Good to see everybody can agree on what the stuff is :) Do we win a prize?

Here is an image of a Profec-B (which is number 3 below the dash). Looks remarkably similar to mine i just scanned??

hahah awsome =) so i got my moneys worth then =)

now i wanted to ask ? will that apexi power fc ... will it be in english or jap and if so? can it still be tuned here? =)

also is it worth getting rid of the profec B boost controler and putting in an avcr =)

ok guys so i know now

that

1. is ECU Apexi Power FC

2. ???

3 Profec B boost controler

4. boost guage =)

5 ???

also wanted to ask ? do you think i will get any hassles with that boost guage there?

wont stop me from seeing things on the rd =)

and if i took some things off the dash and there are holes do you guys know if its possible to repair the holes fix em etc =)?

appreciate all your help guyes thanks =)

the prize some free porn movies hahaha =)

omg - so you have no idea what all that stuff in yur car does?

didn't it come with listed mods?

but yeh, far out - that roll cage is nuts...

and the boost controller, guage, aftermarket ECU are all really damn handy to have already done for ya...

who'd u import with?

is the stereo area fully empty? does it even have the factory mounting cradle inside? coz mine didn't and took me absolutely ages to source the part so i could mount my headunit into.

my guess at 2 is a turbo timer of some sort although doesn't look familiar, seems the only damn mod missing inside yur car... lol.

got any more pics?

thanks man =0

yea rest of the pics are at

PICS ARE HEREE!!!!

hehe

its a 97 180sx type x mods include suspension exhuast sway bars intercooler so far damn i have already bought my stero so hopefully they are in there if not? i might be in the shits hahah =)

now that i found out what all those damn mods are iam getting scared hope the engine is ok hehehe =)

let me know what ya think thanks for all the help =)

i got it off craig from j - spec imports (really reconmend him) it was such a bargin i couldnt belive so i tock my chances and bought it =)

Looks like the front end will need a respray... which could cost a couple of grand, but otherwise if u got a good deal for it great. I wouldn't worry about the mods too much - the only concern would be whether it has done track work or not.

When I ordered my car I only got the standard Japanese inspection sheet.

It was only when I got it here and I had a few mates go over it did I get the full extent of the modifications that went into the car.

Otherwise I would have baulked at the HKS suspension :D

Hmmm... doesn't my butt hurt...

T.

well as for the front i will see how bad it is when it gets here if it is ill just get a new front bar i like and get it spraied iam good friends with some good panel beaters so they said about 1500 for the hole car sprayed which is good =)

as for track work iam not sure it has dont it or not

good thing is has all original seats etc no race seats and is comming with some service books =)

as for the roll cage

i live in vic and they are legal depending on how they are bolted onto the car etc

but if worst comes to worst i might have to get it taken out the front par but if i can ill keep it =)

if it requres a lil work then ill proberly take to an enginer to get it approved if its a big hassle then ill proberly take it out =)

    • Sounds like the solenoid might be cactus, if the solenoid trigger wire was still attached (and it was just the main power to the starter itself remove). Just to provoke Neil haunting me for the rest of my life... Have you tried tapping it with a hammer while someone switches the key to start? This might work for the fuel pump too... šŸ˜›
    • I need help dealing with an engineer who is massively overcharging me for an engineering report on my modified, written-off Jeep to get it roadworthy. šŸ”¹ Initially, he quoted me $3,500 - $4,500. šŸ”¹ First invoice: $5,315 (already above the quote). šŸ”¹ Second invoice: $1,375. šŸ”¹ Now, he has sent another invoice for $3,100! This is way more than double what I was originally quoted. I feel like Iā€™m being ripped off. Has anyone dealt with something like this before? What can I do? Any advice on how to report him or fight these unfair charges? Would really appreciate any guidance! šŸ™ Am in Adelaide.
    • I dunno man, that VX S with 200,000 k's is still hanging out for 1.5 I reckon the R34 is the better buy, personally.
    • Dang, doesn't even include on roads.
    • Only in a market where OBD was a thing. The rest of the world was quite happy to let the US EPA only affect US cars for quite a while. The* problem with datalogs is that unless you are very familiar with what every trace should look like, on their own and as an ensemble, you can and will see weird shit that can and will lead you astray, not realising that what you are seeing is the normal consequence of various transient inputs. *Really, "a" problem, as there are of course many other problems too. Look, these cars are so bloody simple that if it is missing or stumbling, the obvious thing is to break out the old mental diagnostic list and just go do all the things that you know you should. After proving that the plugs are clean and sound, ditto the coil stalks, coils, loom connectors, etc, and then making sure that there is fuel pressure at about the right numbers (while driving!, not while sitting in the garage free blipping it), then maybe you go looking at AFM voltages, manually testing the igniter, putting a scope on the CAS, etc. Then you're into pulling the injectors for a spray pattern look-see and perhaps a clean, squirting carby cleaner around the inlet manifold looking for leaks, and all the more annoying and esoteric, but still common as muck faults that these things have. I wouldn't ever bother looking at the trims, as they are usually bullshit on these old clunkers anyway.
