Senor on radiator r32

Hello, gents and ladies, I have a question about the sensor which bungs into the bottom of the r32 radiator? Anybody have any idea as to what this item is for? I have just a bought a bigger radiator, and am wondering if it needs to be bunged in or if it is not really needed. Any help and disscusions on this would be great.

ok sounds feesable, but my temp gauge on the dash is still working? Is it maybe got something to do with the aircon fan etc?

How On Earth Do You Do That?

Back to the point - it's got nothing to do with the gauges. It's a thermal switch for the A/C cooling fan (the one out front of the A/C radiator).

a/c radiator its called a condensor the one on the actual radiator (filled with coolant) is a coolant temp sensor which tells the ecu how hot the engine is

The coolant temp sensor on the RB engines is on the inlet manifold.

There is two, one for the dash guage and the second is for the ECU.

None of them are mounted on the radiator as atmo32 claims.

blind_elk is correct....it is a thermal switch which activates the aircon fan for extra cooling in the event that coolant temp gets too high.

ok, thanks for the input guys, i will arrange a new thermal sensor for it then.
