i've been using redbook alot lately to estimate the value of different 2nd hand cars(im in the market for a 2nd hand sports car and im also selling my current car). it seems that the more "popular" cars(everyday family mover) are accurately priced but when it comes to sport cars, its abit underpriced or unrealistic.

soo what im getting at is, how reliable is redbook.com.au ?

please check out the follow cars to get an understanding.

tell me what u think.

Its pathetic it valued my car recently at $7700-$8500. A f*kwit rode my car off and their insurance gave me $10,500. Its totally wrong. I was scared that their insurance would go by the current market value of the website you mentioned and others similar, lucky they didnt or i would have been screwed.

yeah pretty poor, undervalues pretty much everything. your best bet is just to average the prices on carsales/carpoint etc australia wide. Redbook isn't really any kind of official pricing guide either, from what i can gather. Glass's guide is the official one, but good luck getting it if you're not a dealer
