Its tricky, it all depends how you have your priorities.

In the end, i say the std stagea body kit is pretty damn ugly, i mean, i dont like it. The DAYZ is a really nice, S15 looking touch. The way i see it, front bars, rear bars etc are all disposable items. I dont want to spend $2000 on a body kit and then hit a wombat in the hills and smash the front bar to peices.

I would spend a few hundred on a DAYZ copy front bar.

If i was going to spend $2000, i would rather buy a turbo or coilovers/swaybars or something else... i guess thats just my priorities...not everyone wants a performance wagon (i mean, big numbers)

whats the point of a body kit on a car that is designed to be a sleeper? if you want a look at me car then the stagea is not the sports type car that your after but if you want a performance car with plenty of room for tuning with the practicality of wagon and less cop attention then the stagea is the way to go. i would say put go before show and at most i would get some rims and a rear wing but thats it

Agreed......most people don't even know that Stagea's exist!

That's exactly what i did. After i got them put on i got a lot more looks from people, it definately still has the sleep look, but it still looks different. i don't think people are used to seeing a wing on a wagon. My car came with skirts and a rear bar, not massive ones, but something to make it a bit different

I said Yes, but it really depends on what it looked like, and I wouldn't do it before getting the performance side of things sorted first.

Either way, if I did decide to do it, it would really depend on how the car looked in the first place, because Ive noticed that some Stageas have minor details (like the maybe 10 different types of grills) that I prefer over others...

I like this:

and this on the series II:

But not this (I hate this grill):

or this on the series II:

And it would definitely just build on the looks of the car, and not make it stand out too much.

Iron fist, velvet glove...

Apparently Ive got a Dayz edition 1997 Stagea, and I reckon the bodykit looks ace. RSFour just alerted me to the fact, sending me a picture of a dayz edition brochure.

The Dayz edtion bodykit is very subtle with a nice rear end and sides, and a sweet-as front bar with the spotlights and number plate mount, but honestly it looks just so much nicer than the plain-jane standard Stagea's.

But I wouldnt be spending 2k on a bodykit, that sort of money would be best spent elsewhere. Perhaps a copy bodykit, as previosuly suggested for say 1k?

Brendan

Can you post some photos of the DAYZ kit? Im keen to find out what mine is, its the same as RSO04's kit..

RSFour kindly emailed me these pics.... Ive got the full kit, havent checked the suspension as yet, doesnt have the exhaust (it was replaced in Qld), front badge and grill or interior options.

I cant be sure if Ive just got a Dayz bodykit (minus the grill, so is it a repica?) or if the Japanese owner only ticked half the options available.

Would like to know if Ice12 has all of the options, interior included?

Brendan

Mine has the badges but only on the rear. the suspention I'm not sure of (have to have a close look next time it is on the hoist). The exhaust I know is back to standard (compliance) It has the full leather interior (Black). MOMO black leather tiller (airbag). Carbon fibre look dash, consol and door switches. Suede door inserts. I came with 18's (not DAYZ). Rear wing, body kit colour coded (no black rubber strips). electric everything (I think they all have this). I think that is about it.

Cheers ICE

SWEET. Sounds real nice............... :uh-huh:

Oh you hate my grill :( Theres only one other person in Australia I know with that one!

I reckon it has a much more vip look to it, that first stag looks tuff :(

Yep, sorry Lone - the black part in the centre of the grill looks like there was a (too big) badge on there, and it was taken away and nothing put in its place. Maybe if the whole grill was grey or blakc, instead of grey and black, then it would look better in my eyes...

I like the mesh grill because I think it gives that subtle agression that I love in cars so much.
