I did a search but didn't get much love from it, so here goes. I am looking at getting a fmic kit asap, and I am just looking at as many opinions as possible. Just wondering what sort of kit or cooler you have, how much it cost & how it performs in your car. I have seen the Hybrid kind are good for some but not for others, but judging from what shows up in the group buys these are pretty common. One concern is whether it is a copy or genuine. One place in Sydney claim to be the only official supplier of Hybrid, but I'm just not sure if they could prove it!!

Or if you have a jap brand fmic (greddy, HKS, Blitz etc) & would recommend that, tell me why! I would prefer to be able to fit it myself with minimum fuss, and I'm not completely sure of my budget yet. By this I mean if a kit I can get for $700 that would do pretty much the same as one for $1400 I would go the cheaper one. I am going to be modifying my car a lot more too, so this needs to be taken into account.

If someone could direct me to a thread I might have missed or can give some advice, it will be much appreciated.

gtr33 coolers are good for 300rwkw and should be an easy fit. just need piping. i have a hybrid home brand hack up on mine and its fine. no dramas at all. whistles a little but does the job and u can feel the core after a long run and very left is hot/warm and then gets very cold within 20cms

Hi there i have a HKS on my R32 it seems to be fine i suggest you buy a good brand name especial if you are going to be doing a far bit to you car as the saying goes you get what you pay for. Maybe ask a couple places were you live that do tuning they would properly be you best help as they would see these cars every day

    • yeah I've never understood that either.... And to answer an earlier question, I write the date on open bottles and throw them if more than 12 months old (which they almost always are, because I don't need to bleed them unless I'm changing lines/calipers etc in between)
    • Nah, the one that hit the boot was a big steel locker, around 6 foot height, 4 foot wide and 2 foot deep, empty it weighs about 15kg and had about that amount of stuff in it The photo didn't give a good representation of the actual damage, the large ding on the passenger side was about a inch deep, the one on the driver was about 1/2 inch deep, right on the curve, where the inner boot frame doesn't let you get behind it with a dolly Basically the same issue with getting behind the damage on the centre of the boot We could have filled it all with bog, but my OCD would be triggered every time I looked at it, knowing what hides beneath  As for the locker, I did get the shits with it and put it in the scap metal bin, but, I pulled it out and it is now sitting in the garage at home full of car servicing stuff, cleaning gear and random tools, it's going to pay for it's indiscretions
    • Whilst I typically don't cheap out on things, if I can save some money, like $1000, on a clean straight panel, that gives me $1000 to spend on other stuff, basically free money really 🤔 🤣
    • Is the toolbox that damaged the boot seal the same item that fell on the car during the storm a while back?
    • Who are you to deny yourself? I’ve said this many times to myself and apart from getting what I really want, I go quiet for a while whilst working out what I just did to my savings and how will I afford what it cost, then, next payday…
