Ok so most ppl on here are big Skyline fans, and hence currently own one. But does anyone else constantly patrol the auto trader etc. looking for ideas for their next ride? Personally, I can't help myself. I've only had my gtr for 2 months, but Im already looking forward. I think I may sell it by the end of the year, because Ive just seen the next STi coming out...and Im afraid it may be the very thing to break my Skyline affair. Has anyone else got an idea for their next car, and importantly, will it be a Skyline???

Currently only having an R33 Gts-t leaves me open to a number of options.. depending on how this one goes for 2 or 3 years I might look into either a 98 GT-R upgrade..

would love to own atleast one.. otherwise.. well - an STI could be nice, not a fan of the lancers, however - 350z i don't mind..

Not sure yet.. have to wait and see.. as for trawling the classifieds.. not yet.. not yet..

Just sold my R33gtst... yes, i am having withdrawal symptoms already! :P

I have a non-skyline runabout car lined up for me as my living/work arrangements don’t really necessitates me having car, especially a high-powered 'line.

But nonetheless, i have been on the lookout for a good value gtr, most prob an r32/r33!

just drooling at the adds at this stage, but one day..... cue evil laughter.....hahahahah!

so to answer ure question, next car is not a skyline but wishin it was.

Yesterday I picked up my new car. Did drive (still have) a '93 Gts-T Line. Now I have a Toyota Chaser JZX100 with a 1JZ-GTE with VVT-i. Its a bigger car, has great response and im sure if it had the same mods as the line it would leave it in the dust.

4-door and all, still a great ride. and its not a 'im settling down' car, its a sleeper. Got some double takes when i was driving home. well worth it thou. took 3 months to get to where it is today (my car hole), and is a bit more that the 33, but hey, you only live once.

My trouble is that everybody drives em now days and i hate to follow trends. Yeh i can see the reason why, no doubt, but i havent driven one since i killed mine 6 years ago. I think the next car will be a go kart/clubman with a 3sgte or something stupid fast like that, for weekend driving. Untill then ill have to get my jollies from the vtec and that damn annoying rev limiter.

Chasers kik ass :spcartman:

yes probably will be. I will consider a nice 34GTR. or maybe a second 32. Probably before either of those will be a silvia or 180sx, but that will be a rally car, not street car.

Also, you spelt "Costanza" wrong mate. :)

I dont think you ever stop looking for other projects....theres sooo many more cars I want to own before I die.

Some pretty standard ones like your R34 GTR, others a little bit more Obscure, that for some reason or other I am attracted to, and not nessacarily performance cars either :)

yeah i'd love to own an R34 gt-r one day.... one day but considering im only 18, the R33 gts-t goes nicely atm, next car will proly be an SS ute.... thats right a holden :), ( for work related purposes but ), i'll still keep the '33 no matter what the next car i own is.

as much as i love my skyline, i realise the dream cant go on for ever (DUE TO THE PROHIBITIVE COSTS INVOLVED)

couldnt go back to a slug, so was thinking sometihng like a b4 liberty

more sensible

still fun

    • Yes...but look at the numbers. There is a tiny tiny fraction of the number of Joules available, compared to what is used/needed. Just because things are "possible" doesn't make them meaningful.
    • Thanks for taking the time to post that ! If anything changes or happens please do update us.
    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
