GTR AFM cleaning

My AFM are dirty as anything (inside) and was just wondering has anyone cleaned GTR AFM with that cleaning stuff. The reason I'm asking is because GTR AFM are very sensitive to chemicals and can fail. That's the last thing I want cause my motor went pop cause one failed before.

my mechanic said to use carby cleaner

worked great on mi afm

he does heaps of skylines

Don't use Carby Cleaner,,,,use Brake Cleaner or some sort of Electrical Contact Cleaner,,,,Carby Cleaners leave residue,,,,.Carby Cleaners are great on Carby's because you use them will the engines running,,,Cleaning an AFM should only be done while they are removed,,,,

I've used brake cleaner on GTR AFM's works great, lot of black crap came out.

Yep, I used Brake cleaner on my GTR AFMs got a whole heap of black crap out of em.

What kind of brake cleaner stuff are you guys talking about? Do they come in spray cans or bottles?

Comes in spray can back here in the UK. Just don't touch the bits inside. Just spray and leave to dry this will not take long.

I cleaned mine yesterday with CRC Brake-elene (sp?).

Heaps of black crap came off.

Just a GTST but she runs much better now, feels quicker.
