I realise this has been posted a number of times, but having looked at a proposed 33 GTR V-SPEC recently, and wanting to confirm its genuineness, I did my homework (like a good boy) and found Martin Donnon's article in HPI #16.

To save people scouring the posts about this topic as I have done here is a summary of the article:

Most people are aware that the V-SPEC has the updated ATTESA ETS PRO tourque split. Updates itself 1000 times per second compared to 20 times per second on standard GTR's (4 times per second on the 32 models). This is identifiable by

* finned diff cover with hyd line from right hand side

* two electric pumps under a black plastic cover inthe rear right hand corner of the vehicle

* hydrlines comming from these pumps into the rear of the gear box and the other to the rear steering rack

The dash will have a 'A-LSD' warning light above the tacho. Easy for immitation cars due to the number of 320km/hr replacements resulting in spare genuine V-SPEC clusters.

The brake ducts are flat number 7 shaped objects rather than conventional 32 and 33 snorkle type set ups.

Blue identification plate near the brake booster will show a chassis id number containing the letter 'W' rather than the standard 'Q'

Front lip on the spoiler is 10mm closer to the ground due to different springs and shocks

The next point does not appear in the article, but i have been told that the V-SPEC has an upgraded sound system, evident by factory looking square tweeters on the A-pillar.????true???

The final non-reliable sign is of course the 'V-SPEC' sticker on the boot lid, which can be had for less than $20 if you ask your Nissan dealer nicely.

With this information in hand I'm off to hopefully hand over some cash and join the world of GTR owners.

If there are any other signs that people know of that are missed please add to the list!!!!!

PS Martin I hope this isnt considered copy-right breaching.:uh-huh:

Nah, my R33 gts-t has the same square tweeter thingo, so its obviously just an option. I wouldn't go on that at all.

I'd say the chassis/engine number would be the key indicator.

The photo's look like this is a much smaller silver-bronze coloured unit.
