Many might not even draw an eye unless you know what you are looking at. I've seen a couple of stock looking ones out there, and often hard to distinguish it from a Camry from a distance (the ultimate insult! sorry :D)

so ture! ;)

i have raced one on "private road", at the beginning they approach me i am not really aware and thought "WTF this camry driver thinking?"

go the chaser... that particular r34 sedan aint that great lookin... if u want a better example have a look at the uras r34 sedans the ones that ken nomura drives in D1

but ultimately the chaser is more desired as it is very rare and extremely good lookin.

I can't really comment on anything but the styling.

The chaser has many cues to other cars out there. Many might not even draw an eye unless you know what you are looking at. I've seen a couple of stock looking ones out there, and often hard to distinguish it from a Camry from a distance (the ultimate insult! sorry :))

Finally someone I can agree with :) I've never liked the sedan R-series cars, but at least the R34 sedan gets the benefit of the harder styling of the 34 line. With enough money ploughed in to it, it can even look quite good (as others mentioned, see Numoken/URAS).

The Chaser I have just never liked. To me it represents the peak Japtastic 90s styling. No amount of fiddling and aftermarket parts help: it just looks like a desperate attempt to inject some excitement in to an otherwise extremely boring design. The Chaser in the first post looks like a dog to me. The one posted by ABuSD is the best one I have seen, but its stills says "tarted up Camry styling" to me. Sorry :O

Lucien.

i would say the r34 has better exterior styling, however, having said that i like the jzx100 as well. (heck the jzx90 will do fine for me if i wanted a family car as its well built and is pretty much the ultimate sleeper).

The interior is better in the jzx100 isnt it. Doesn't it come with carbon dash trims. Also with this car, even if you buy an auto it is still as fast as the manual. Also there is more room than the skyline apparently. However, it is more expensive than the r34 sedans.

The skyline is a great performer and is always going to be a good car for you and i think all of us on this thread know it is a good car so it doesn't need explaining.

Personally i would be happy with either cars if i were looking for a import sports sedan.

Besides the Chaser would be very similar to your current car....

(assuming you are the dude with the IS200 with 1JZ :P)

You`d be paying money for the same engine with different body...if that makes any sense

Id take the R34 in a heartbeat.....especially in WHITE.....

here are some pics....

this is a dilema i often consider...both are awesome

i think a r34 series II is the best but i'd be happy with either (or both :))

what is the availability of parts like for chasers? does toyota support them in terms of spare parts like nissan does for skylines?

JZX100 hands down... as much as i love skylines if i was after a comfortable cruiser with balls id go the Chaser... if ur after a 4 door ur obviously not going to be trashing it around the track aiming for top times... if u were u wouldnt get a 4dr.

So... comfort and style... Chaser no doubt about it.

1JZGTE Twin Turbo Goodness (VVTi in the later models)... shits on an RB25DET... its cheaper to replace an entire 1JZGTE than an RB25DET...

1JZs are about 1500 and most RB25DETs ive seen are about 3500.

Parts for chasers are just as easy to come by as skyline engine wise... interior as well but exterior arent as available.

Dont compare them to cars that have had hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on them like the ones in the pics above...

Just because you're buying a sedan doesn't mean you dont want performance. its a compromise. so you want the car that has the best compromise between handling, comfort and style.

like i said... if u wanted something to fang around a track for good time slips u wont be getting either of those cars. and if u did... well... ur wasting ur money.

as for styling i think the R34 stock looks as boring as the chaser stock... remember they dont look anything like those pics in this thread.

Ok, here is a bog stock JZX100

Noooooooooooooo! You could have at least posted a pic of a chaser with out the crappy coloured indicators! ;)

As for performance, i can say the chaser has it regardless of the weight disadvantage. I've owned a 95 r33 and even in stock trim the chaser was quicker.

Agreed that in stock guise that the Chaser looks boring, however the 34 isnt remarkable either. Delete the rear spoiler, lower and add rims and you have a hot looking car.

OK maybe i'm bias! :)

Yeah the orange blinkers are coming straight off mine as soon as I can. They really look terrible.

Here's a pic of a totally stock series 2 Chaser with the much nicer clear blinkers (apart from the rims of course). They really can look nice with very few mods.

see... they both suck. but id still take a chaser over the 34.

im a skyline person too not a toyota lover (yes yes so i drive a soarer but thats only cause i have to).

its just my opinion and thats the way its always going to be...
