Buying stolen parts

So if im about to purchase an engine from interstrate, say im in NSW and want to buy an engine privately from WA, who do i go to with engine numbers to ensure nothing is stolen and all is on the level?

well if the guy is a habib, its probably stolen...

easy way of checking

otherwise, u should be fine!

check with the rta overthere, actually u might even be able to check with the rta here since theyve established that database australia wide now for stolen cars and stuff, im sure they can track down the engine numbers

In WA you contact REVS or the Department of Transport on 131156. Go to www.transport.wa.gov.au for more info.

Rumour has it that they soon will be listing stolen VIN's and Block numbers to stop rebirthing.
