Web Designer? Looking for talented web designer/graphic artist in the Brisbane area!

Web Designer, looking for talent in the Brisbane area!

Am looking for someone with web design experience and artistic creativity to help design a performance-cars-only classified website. Have you always wanted to express your talents? This might be your chance!

Strong interest in cars is preferred, but not essential.

With regards to pay, for the right person, we are looking at a minimum hourly wage initially, but then between 5-10% ongoing income from the website's profits.

Must also be in the Brisbane area, preferably north (near Strathpine) or Sunshine Coast.

Interested? Just reply to this post or email me (Steve) at [email protected])

Cheers!

you've already spammed all the forums.. now you're going to bump every day as well??

Mate, do you know how many forums are on Skylines Australia? More than 3, which is the number of forums i have posted on.

Are you a web designer? I don't think so. So I am not talking to you. That's the good thing about forums hey? You can leave any abusive post and you don't have to face up to anyone.

Don't bother replying mate.

PS Thanks for the free bump!

Are you a web designer?

um, yes.. but that is besides the point.

there are rules against posting the same thread in multiple areas, and you clearly don't want to follow the forum rules

Actually predator is a shit hot web designer.

And so am I, actually.

I have already created a free online automotive parts classifieds site called easyautobits. It was free, looked hot, was specifically for cars, was promoted through all the forums and was a flop. Try something else. :)

lol - that was my next point.. but you beat me to it Pentae :)

What makes you think you can create a competitive automotive classifieds website, with next to obviously no money, paying penuts (you get monkeys), and obviously a bit of a lack of general etique and protocol amongst the internet world, no doubt leading to your obvious misunderstanding of the broader online marketplace??

Where are your profits going to come from, assuming you get visitors (hardest part to start with)? People paying for ads? Why? they can advertise on countless Internet forums for free that are going to be more targetted towards their needs potential buyers.

Online Advertising? You ever seen how much most Australian websites make from this? other than maybe the top 5-10 commercial players that spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on them each year, most Australian websites make squat from this. Unless you have got more than 100,000 unique visitors a month traffic, you're going to make didly.

Hi guys,

Once again, thanks for the free bump.

If you can show me where it says that you can't post on several forums, I will apologise, as I did not mean to break any forum rules. I personally can not find any rules regarding posting on multiple forums. one rule I did find, however, was...

* If you have a problem with somebody - take it to PM, thats what they are there for

Can you give me the addresses of websites you have designed?

Thanks also for telling me what NOT to do. It will greatly help me in designing the website.

Cheers

Steve

PS Thanks for the constructive criticism, pentae, I can see where you are coming from.

I think what they meant about you breaking forum rules is that the post has to be about the a certain topic, this may sort of fall within general automotive, but it won't in alot of the other forums on SAU. there is no need to spam the entire site with advertisement.

SAU does have certain sections setup for advertisement of products etc, or just limit it to the forum top it fits best into.

anyway good luck finding someone, it sounds intresting if you get it off the ground. :P

Guys give him a break. Just because your website was a flop doesn't mean his will.

Can't stop anyone from going after their dreams.

Wolversteve good luck in finding someone and get it off the ground. I am a web designer but for one I am in Melbourne and have too much work on at the moment. If you want some friendly advice give me a PM. cya

Hey, thanks Archie and Beefy for the replies, fair enough about posting in the right forums, ill delete any posts not relevant.

Cheers for the offer for help, beefy, ill keep that in mind if i have any questions!

Appreciated!

Steve

wolversteve, I've merged all three of your threads into the one, as duplicate threads in multiple sections are regarded as spam. The Computer Art section is probably most relevant to what you seek, and I've left a redirect to this thread in the General Section so previous posters can still find it.

Ok no probs, sorry i wasn't aware of that rule, i looked before i posted but couldnt find anything that said that... no worries tho.

Cheers

    • The engine stuff is Greg Autism to the Max. I contacted Tony Mamo previously from AFR who went off to make his own company to further refine AFR heads. He is a wizard in US LS world. Pretty much the best person on earth who will sell you things he's done weird wizard magic to. The cam spec is not too different. I have a 232/234 .600/603 lift, 114LSA cam currently. The new one is 227/233 .638 .634. The 1.8 ratio roller rockers will effectively push this cam into the ~.670 range. These also get Mamo'ified to be drilled out and tapped to use a 10mm bolt over an 8mm for better stability. This is what lead to the cam being specced. The plan is to run it to 6800. (6600 currently). The Johnson lifters are to maintain proper lift at heavy use which is something the LS7's supposedly fail at and lose a bit of pressure, robbing you of lift at higher RPM. Hollow stem valves for better, well everything, Valve train control. I dunno. Hollow is better. The valves are also not on a standard valve angle. Compression ratio is going from 10.6 to 11.3. The cam is smaller, but also not really... The cam was specced when I generated a chart where I counted the frames of a lap video I had and noted how much of the time in % I spent at what RPM while on track at Sandown. The current cam/heads are a bit mismatched, the standard LS1 heads are the restriction to power, which is why everyone CNC's them to get a pretty solid improvement. Most of the difference between LS1->LS2->LS3 is really just better stock heads. The current cam is falling over about 600rpm earlier than it 'should' given the rest of my current setup. CNC'ing heads closes the gap with regards to heads. Aftermarket heads eliminate the gap and go further. The MMS heads go even further than that, and the heads I have in the box could quite easily be bolted to a 7.0 427ci or 454 and not be any restriction at all. Tony Mamo previously worked with AFR, designed new heads from scratch then eventually founded his own business. There he takes the AFR items and performs further wizardry, CNC'ing them and then manually porting the result. He also ports the FAST102 composite manifold: Before and after There's also an improved racing crank scraper and windage tray. Helps to keep oil in the pan. Supposedly gains 2% power. Tony also ports Melling oil pumps, so you get more oil pressure down low at idle, and the same as what you want up top thanks to a suitable relief spring. There's also the timing chain kit with a Torrington bearing to make sure the cam doesn't have any thrust. Yes I'll post a before and after when it all eventually goes together. It'll probably make 2kw more than a setup that would be $15,000 cheaper :p
    • Because the cars wheels are on blocks, you slide under the car.   Pretty much all the bolts you touched should have been put in, but not fully torque up.   Back them off a turn or two, and then tighten them up from under the car with the wheels sitting on the blocks holding car up in the air.
    • Yes. Imagine you have the car on the ground, and you mine away all the ground under and around it, except for the area directly under each individual wheel. That's exactly how it'd look, except the ground will be what ever you make the bit under each wheel from
    • Yes, if you set the "height" right so that it's basically where it would be when sitting on the wheel. It's actually exactly how I tighten bolts that need to be done that way. However....urethane bushes do NOT need to be done that way. The bush slides on both the inner and outer. It's only rubber bushes that are bonded to the outer that need to be clamped to the crush tube in the "home" position. And my car is so full of sphericals now that I have very few that I need to do properly and I sometimes forget and have to go back and fix it afterwards!
