Auto box getting stuck in 1st

As the title says, my car is auto, and when i take off from traffic lights SOMETIMES it gets stuck in 1st gear. to get it to change ive either gotta take my foot off the accelerator or give it a bit of a hit of the accelerator then it goes into 2nd.

does anyone know what the problem could be? maybe i need to change my gearbox oil?

Change auto fluid to see if it makes a difference, but most likely the box is on its way out from being revved out one too many times over its life.

You could take it to somebody to get it serviced, but that could be a waste of money if its already on its way out.

it doesnt feel like its on its way out.. its really strong and it only happens aroud once or twice a day.

my rb20 auto used to do that only in ODrive, then 2nd, now it sitting on front yard waiting for new gearbox :goddam: :cuss:

Didn't really notice, but it wouldn't drop into Odrive properly, once or twice while traveling around. Then it just wasn't worth using ODrive to much jumping between gears.

Don't know if this would be any similar to your prob or not?
