Hey,

I through i post this up for wa members as i have seen alot of traders now offer to buy parts from yahoo auction, the only problem i have found is that there buyer fee is pretty high between 15 to 25%. I've got myself a dude that helps me out and has bought alot of parts for me from yahoo.

I was just wondering if anyone is interested in buying something, you could drop us a pm as i would be more than happy to help out wa members as it would work out pretty easy for me and you guys,

just for you guys to get a feel for things there are a few hks gt2540 and 2530 turbos for sale at the monent to suit rb20/25 all of them u can buy now for around $800 to $1000 (maybe cheaper depending how many people bid) then you just got to add shipping which depending on method (lets say turbo weight is 10kg) it would cost ya about $100 by boat take about 4-6weeks and about $250 by air which takes about 5 - 7days, then add the bank fees and local transport cost in jap (from auction seller to my mate) your most likly looking at getting it for around 1.5k if not under

the only problem is that you can say you never not what you are getting, it could be moring 100% or it could be a POS but again thats the risk you take, most of the ones for sale at the moment are good clean ones which have done few km one has done about 5000km i think so almost new.

again just tring to help anyone out if they want, like i said feel free to drop us a pm

cheers michael

p.s mods if there is something wrong with this thread plz delete im not tring to be a bussiness and sell stuff just tring to help other wa members out

Thanks Micheal...yes i think that sort of mark-up for a few mouse clicks was a bit hard to swallow. Will keep you in mind if i need any bits ok.

not a problem, i cant really get in big stuff like bodykits etc, but stuff like turbos, fmic, engine parts, even rims are within the size i can get (just on that note i saw 2 WORK CR-Kai rims sell for only 15,000yen just under $200 in perfect condition with perfect tyres on them, pretty good if you ask me)

I use a French guy in Japan and he charges me a flat fee after winning the bid and charges me for freight after it has left Japan, with payment it is into his Australian account so no TT fee's.

What are your friends terms.

hey Nigel,

They are the same terms as my buyer, fix fee, and i do not pay anything untill the item is on the way to australia, he also has an australia bank account so, its free to transfer the money if i go to his bank or $5 with my bank

PM me too on how it works... or just post it up?

1. You contact me me with the details of the item you wish to bid on (you can find the item yourself or you can say to me "find me a hks turbo to suit rb25" and i will look for you)

2.Once we have found an item; i will contact explain the condition of the part, current bid etc etc etc

3.Then if you wish to bid on the item, i get your MAX BID (this is the max amount you wish to spend only on the item< if you are unsure of what the tottal cost will be you can just give me the max amount of money you wish to spend on everything and i will work out your max bid from there)

4.Won we have won the auction, the item will be sent to my contact in japan, he will then contact me about the tottal cost of shipping

5.Once he have pick a shipping method (boat or air) the item will be spent

6.Then you contact me and we sent up a method for me tog et the money of you (if you wish we can do it in person, or else you can just transfer into my bank account)

7. I then send the money to my buyer in japan and we wait for the item to arrived in perth

8.Once i get the item, i will contact you, and we can set up a time and place to drop off the item or pick it up

I need to make one point very clear, there is ALWAYS a chance that the item you have bid on isnt what you wanted (e.g the condtion isnt that good); this is the risk involded in buying from a place like yahoo auction. I have found that it is better to stay away from the cheaper auction (for example a trubo which says it may have shaft or a turbo which state there is no shaft play; the price difference is not worth the risk of getting a fcuk turbo)

Also just to add, i can't get big items like bodykits, exhuast etc etc because due to the size, we must uses different shipping method and the cost is very very pricey and in the end doesnt work out to be cheaper

Some people want money up front even before bidding which is suss, the deal Gts_evilution is offering is the go.

We have bought a lot of bits and it is worth the trouble just dont rush in bidding, we have waited 3 or 4 times for the same item till we get it for the right price.

Cheers Nigel :P

I know what you mean sometimes the best option is just to sit back and wait for the right prices, it may take some times but worth it in the end for sure :D

Michael

Sounds like a good deal Michael.

Let's hope you don't bid for someone win it and have them back out.

Maybe you should charge a deposit prior to bid if you don't know the person.

I'd be interested in getting a set of coilovers and staggered wheels to suit a CPV35 Skyline.

You say you can send wheels but if they come with tyres is that too large to transport?

Cheers

What brand coilovers? with coilovers due to the weight its best to ship by boat as it will work out cheaper, rims im not sure about with tyres have to ask my buyer about that one,

send us a pm chris or email ([email protected]) with info on stuff your looking and i will have alook for ya (you dont have to buy anything as i do mine looking for parts :P)

Also with the issue of despoits, i will only buy stuff for wa people so i can get in contact with them face to face if needed, so if they pull something like no paying i can go around to say hi :D

Hey micheal...want to buy this item...see how you go.http://page12.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auct...ction/p22692517

that item can be bought now for about $320 + shipping and buyers fee; but due to the size the normal method of shipping might not allowed it; so the cost of shipping may blow out ;) but i will contact my buyer and get the info of the tottal cost of shipping

p.s sorry i didnt reply to your email it went into my bulk part of my email, and i didnt get it till now (sunday)

    • I think you're really missing the point. The spec is just the minimum spec that the fuel has to meet. The additive packages can, and do, go above that minimum if the fuel brand feels they need/want to. And so you get BP Ultimate or Shell Ultra (or whatever they call it) making promises to clean your engine better than the standard stuff....simply because they do actually put better additive packages in there. They do not waste special sauce on the plebian fuel if they can avoid it. I didn't say "energy density". I just said "density". That's right, the specific gravity (if you want to use a really shit old imperial description for mass per unit volume). The density being higher indicates a number of things, from reduces oxygen content, to increased numbers of double bonds or cyclic components. That then just happens to flow on to the calorific value on a volume basis being correspondingly higher. The calorific value on a mass basis barely changes, because almost all hydrocarbon materials have a very similar CV per kg. But whatever - the end result is that you do get a bit more energy per litre, which helps to offset some of the sting of the massive price bump over 91. I can go you one better than "I used to work at a fuel station". I had uni lecturers who worked at the Pt Stanvac refinery (at the time they were lecturing, as industry specialist lecturers) who were quite candid about the business. And granted, that was 30+ years ago, and you might note that I have stated above that I think the industry has since collected together near the bottom (quite like ISPs, when you think about it). Oh, did I mention that I am quite literally a combustion engineer? I'm designing (well, actually, trying to avoid designing and trying to make the junior engineer do it) a heavy fuel oil firing system for a cement plant in fricking Iraq, this week. Last week it was natural gas fired this-that. The week before it was LPG fired anode furnaces for a copper smelter (well, the burners for them, not the actual furnaces, which are just big dumb steel). I'm kinda all over fuels.
    • Well my freshly rebuilt RB25DET Neo went bang 1000kms in, completely fried big end bearing in cylinder 1 so bad my engine seized. No knocking or oil pressure issue prior to this happening, all happened within less than a second. Had Nitto oil pump, 8L baffled sump, head drain, oil restrictors, the lot put in to prevent me spinning a bearing like i did to need the rebuild. Mechanic that looked after the works has no idea what caused it. Reckoned it may have been bearing clearance wrong in cylinder 1 we have no idea. Machinist who did the work reckoned it was something on the mechanic. Anyway thats between them, i had no part in it, just paid the money Curiosity question, does the oil system on RB’s go sump > oil pump > filter > around engine? If so, if you had a leak on an oil filter relocation plate, say sump > oil pump > filter > LEAK > around engine would this cause a low oil pressure reading if the sensors was before the filter?   TIA
