I am keen to do the same thing as the heat soak is getting to be a problem on these cold mornings when stopped at lights. Confuses the hell out of the stock air flow meter! The tubing is a good start but I really need to get the cold air box made soon. I am going for a custom carbon fibre job from a guy in Geebung called Custom Carbon. Great guy and his ability with carbon fibre is amazing. Good prices too.

Any chance of some pictures to show what was done?

Personally, I can't see the point in having a pod filter if you're gonna box it up?

The reason you put the pod on is to increase air flow.

If you box it up you are reducing airflow to the size of inlet on the box/ induction pipe, are you not?

Would be better to keep the stock box with a high flow filter panel then wouldn't it?

or

a partition to keep direct heat might help???

Just my 2c,

The box is purely to keep the engine bay heat out. The piping from underneath is added to the inlet at the top-front of the box, just better positioned than the standard air box. Two inlets are better than one!!

well i have a mendral bent 3" pipe from my front left side corner bumper opening going up and boleting in place where the stock intercooler "elbow" was this brings in loads of cold air im thinking of getting a rubber panel to partition the pop & Airflow meter, this way it would get only cold air in no air from engine.. plus it wnt be defective .. i had a price done from hardcore performance they do the box setup for 120-150 fitted.. But they using just a simple flexible heatsheild ....

wat are the prices like for carbon boxs? ..

yes two holes are better than one!
