You should probably replace it since it's already torn down. Might as well buy a metal headgasket.

Sounds good in theory but a thicker head gasket is definately noticable when driving off boost.

What mods do you have? If you're not planning on big power, I would suggest replacing it with a standard Nissan gasket.

Don't reuse the existing one, you might as well swap it whilst it's out

I guess I just assumed because if he's not increasing the power, I can't see much point in getting a standard thickness metal head gasket

How do we know he's not increasing the power? hahaha It's whatever you wanna do. Personally I would've replaced it with something stronger. You might not want more power now, but a few months down the road you could. Better to replace it now than have to tear it apart again. You don't have to get a thicker headgasket to make power. Compression = Power & Response

uuum i have a aftermarket head gasket and its the same thickness as my standard one in my r34 and the engine is good for 600hp...keep the same compression is good no lag and very rev happy. u dont have to go to a thicker head gasket if u want to modify your car for more power.....

well I have used the standard rb26 with o ringing and have had cars making over 600hp at the wheels without a single problem.... The standard ones are quite good but something like a stock thickness cometic or jap brand one will probably help you sleep a little easier at night if you dont o ring it that is!!!! CHeers
