Trading Forum Suggestion

I just had a little thought of how we can stop people getting ripped off various people like MINES_DATSUN etc... I've seen it done on other forums so I can't see why it can't happen here.

Say the buyer is in Sydney and the seller is in Melbourne, but the seller is relatively new or seems a little suspect. The Sydney buyer pays a trusted Melbourne trader / user like SKY031, R31Nismoid, Adzmax etc...and they meet the seller in person; they in turn send off the goods (commission is an option etc..) This will ensure that people who don't pay in person don't get ripped off.

Sound like a good idea? We could make a sticky in the main sale forum with a list of verified traders or trusted people who are willing to partake in this.

Sounds like a great idea in theory, I not sure if it would be used much. It will be very handy for hi-price purchases though

ive always said if i have time im more than happy to go get stuff for interstate people or check things out.

I've done it heaps of times already. I dont ask for any $$ though

Can I also make a suggestion in light of the 'cefiro_pwr' problem. Maybe if there is a sticky topic of "BEFORE BUYING PLEASE READ THIS" and for the people are are a little green when coming to buying goods off the internet just have a list of do's and don'ts? The thing I noticed in the cefiropwr is a fraud thread is many people said they could see he was dodgy, yet others couldnt. Even if it stops just one person getting ripped off, or scares one dodgy person away its worth it. Id also have the above idea suggested with a list of a few people who are willing to help out, I think that is a tops idea.

As I say tho, just a suggestion, some people do need a little help or direction at times.

These are called "escrow" services. There are a number of companies that specialise in this.
