newais i did a compression test on my r33 gtst, this is what i got

121, 131, 150, 120, 121, 121

i know they arent even and that is bad, newias how long would this motor last me if i was to drive it normally? when do i expect the motor to blow?

car has a pod, 3` turbo back exhuast and has 125,000kms on it.. for a 93 model

newias after putting everything back, i start the car up 1st time, it made a funny whistle sound for couple secs, then was back to normal, i turned the car off and tried it again, there was no more weird sound, so everything was sounding right,

i took the car for a drive, i notice that boost only hit 5psi max at 7000rpm

before i did the compression test, car was boosting at 7psi when i rev over 5000rpm, now what could be wrong? i checked if any boost was leaking or nething and tightening every hose up and stuff, and i connected all spark plugs and coils back properly and all, what could be wrong guys? help plzz

those compression readings aren't too good.

not sure what's wrong though (check that you've replaced crossover pipe properly, there may be a couple of earth wires going to some of the bolts that hold crossover pipe on -not sure on rb25det, but worth a shot)..

can't remember where ignition module is on rb25det, but on rb20's it's on one end of the coil pack cover. check that! (plugs & earth wires etc.)

check coil packs & the plugs (and spark plugs). also i hope you didn't drop one of the coil packs coz that can kill 'em. also if u dropped a sparkplug, may have changed the gaps (a long shot, but though i'd suggest everything that comes to mind)

how did you do compression test? did you remove all spark plugs, and fuel pump fuse and crank engine. was it warm or cold? should be warm

if compression varies it is bad.

I'd say less than about 130 psi is bad compression. I think that's what nissan manual says. (165psi is normal, anything below 130 is bad)

who knows what's gonna happen to the engine, get a mecahnic to perform a proper leak down test or whatever on it, and that will tell you where the compression is leaking from & what's wrong with the engine.

what made you do a comp test in the first place? has the engine been running badly?

newais went to mechanic, was faulty spark plugs, and he did a test, with a proper tester that costs 2-3 hundred buks and turns out that i got around 150-155 on all cylinders which is pretty good LOL

=]

so whoeva is using them shitty testers that cost $30 from super cheap auto or smfing, then i sugest u buy a proper one or get test done at mechanics, as they are very not accuarate at all

1/ "newais" and "sumfing" are words in what language?

2/ Cheap compression testers are garbage - and now you know.

Adrian

no need to be a prick there mate. i knew what he was saying.
