Hey Guys,

For my next car im considering going for an R32 GTR. Just have a few questions:

- Whats the difference between a standard GTR and a Vspec II ?

- What are cons of these cars? i.e. things i should keep an eye out for, that are particular to the GTR

- Also, an important one, did they all come out with ABS or was this an option? Ive seen a few without ABS so just wondering.

- Lastly, its common for people to claim they have r33 or 34 motors, so whats the best way to tell ? ECU perhaps ?

Many thanks for your help!

Morgan

On the R32 V-Spec and V-Spec II you get R33 type Brembos, R33 ATESSA software, 17x8 BBS rims and a few other minor things.

Don't count on finding one easy though, bugger all have come into Australia and demand keeps prices high. I doubt I'll ever sell my V-Spec II.

Check the gearbox, the syncros between 3th and 4th are usually knacker. Check to see if the genuine GTR alloy bonnet is still on it instead of a GTSt bonnet with a GTR lip. Launch it hard with an eye on the torque split guage to see if the 4WD is still working and run it on boost to see if power delivery is smooth.... if not one of the ceramic wheels might be missing some fins or dead.

ABS was standard on all I thought... but the system is pretty old now and isn't that good.

I dont see how it being written by an American should make any difference. But you're right, it isnt a bad article. V-spec has a few extra goodies like brembo's, better diffs, bigger rims (BBS), and different suspension. Do they have better Atessa-ets? not sure. i thought they did.

Can you tell the diference between the 2 ATTESSA set-ups?

The only GTR's without ABS were the Nismo edition ones, they were for Group-A Homoligation.
