You are a twat.  What the original poster was asking was the definition of RICE.  Why pretend your car is something it is not?  Why embarass the owners of the real thing with your poor imitation?

If you build a powerful GTST, then have one and be proud of it, don't pretend it is a GTR.  That's all there is to it.  There is no justification for rice boys.  :(

As for me, I am not allowed the drive the car for a number of reasons - and I don't class driving it as important enough to give up my job (which pays me well enough to afford the real thing in the first place).

Mario.

Yay...im a TWAT!!:D

Im shattered, really... my point which seems lost on you was that if it makes him happy so what, its not hurting anyone else

Me, i must be a ricer...dont worry about the fact that the differences between a GTST and GTR are more PERFORMANCE ORIENTATED DIFFERENCES with Nissan having no real care for RICE differentiations.

Alloy guards...thats right they would be lighter and are also wider so can increase the front track. Good for performance. Hang on ill be a ricer and throw an alloy GTR bonnet on as well.

Rear gaurds which allow you to increase the rear track, while im back there i might use the GTR alloy hubs and thicker driveshafts and associated bits. I consider these as changes for performance improvements, aesthetics/cosmetics are an added bonus.

If you happened to have built a powerful GTST then these are the sorts of things that factor into my thinking, as the thing would perform better if you could take weight out of the whoel car, especially the front end and susp.

A GTR badge??? LOL would never consider it, the vinyl GTS-T sticker/badge on my bootlid is lighter.

Though i would consider putting some GTR badges on it, as it appears it may piss some ppl off...

I'm with MarioGTR

Don't dress up your gtst like a gtr and play “pretends”.

It’s like putting a walkinshaw kit on a turbo VL. Nothing wrong with a real walkinshaw nothing wrong with a VL turbo- just don’t mix them!

Why not go for something different like that wide style kit previously posted or the Bee*r kit. Be different! Just don’t dress it up to something it is not!

You are old enough to have good insurance (over 25) and there are plenty of GTR’s around in VIC.

Good luck dude what ever you want!

fibreglass is absolute shit for a road car because no matter how good the job is done it will crack over time there is not way to stop it

ive seen widebody kits that have cracked from J Racing in canberra, who do awesome work.

the stress of the twisting chassis will always crack the joints

Mario: Trust me mate i've been down this path before.. calling out all the "GTR Pretenders".. Its a hard game to play.

Basically GTR owners or people who actually give a toss (like I did before I bought one) are outnumbered by the sheer amount of little riceboy dickheads out there who dress their car up to be something its not. *shrug* I've decided not to take it personally anymore.

Mind you, every loser gts-t with his GTR wing and badge that drives past me with their blow off valve snarling gets the big thumbs down.

Roy, you dont belong in this argument purely because you do not fall into the category of people that are being called out. You are what is called a legend of a gts-t owner. At least until you put that $50 Autobarn GTR badge on there...! :)

:chairshot

edit: PS. For the record, Nothing wrong with a well built GTS-t!

step one: sell r32

step two: buy good condition r31

step three: do rb20det engine conversion

step four: whack in say a GT35/40 turbo huge intercooler etc do some body work

and u will still be cheaper of probably

and u will have a car that looks almost like stock and goes like stink!!!

and then u beat those commowhores and laugh at them - really loud!!!

sarcasm is hard to portray!!

but seriously stick with the r32 and maybe drop in a rb25 and ur car will beat commowhores easily

What should be used instead? I'm very tempted by some of those nice Nismo rear skirts like so. According to the seller they can be double-sided taped in place, but I would have thought they should be moulded at the edges with some fibreglass?

Back on topic: if I were a GTS-t owner I would probably change to a GT-R front as I just don't like the GTS-t front. Not because I am trying to suggest the car is a GT-R, but because there is an obvious visual improvement along with some other gains. Since I own a GT-R anyway, its not a problem

Lucien.

those end caps arent moulded to the body they are just screwed into place

when i was saying dont use fibreglass

i meant dont mould fibreglass parts to the body of the car

because when the chassis twists the fibreglass and body filler will crack

I have an r32 GTS-t, which has front GTR end, along with a GTS bonnet.

Yet the car itself is running a sr20det s15 engine transplant.

The car it self is sick, but I would never ever put GTR badges on it. That is just pathetic.

I saw an r32 GTS in a car park 2 weeks ago, and I had to stop myself from ripping the GTR badges off. Just don’t do it, it shows a complete lack of respect for GTR’s.

so your saying any fpr attached to your car would eventually crack....

rivetting say rear wider than stock fpr guards who lead to the same conclusion?

im just curious not having a go at you in any way

think about it this way metal fibreglass both have a degree of "flex" in them

body filler doesnt

your chassis willl flex then the panels will follow but the filler wont it will crack.

ive seen it on so many cars

bumper bars and side skirts are different because they arent moulded to any fixed part of the car

  • 4 weeks later...

gtr looks much nicer

my R32 often gets mistaken for a GTR as it looks much meaner (veilside frontbar and vertex sideskirts/rear bar/GTR wing) as I've got a GTR grill, cut bonnet and big rims.

No way will I ever put a GTR badge. Thats just plain pathetic.

Much easier to buy a fair condition GTR... its like 3-4 grand more expensive then a nice GTST and well worth it.

Was in love with the R32 GTR but instead I bought myself a R34 GTT and let me tell u pplz... I'm glad I did! Don't want to bother with the 15 yrold cars anymore... my r32 starter motor just went last nite and I'm assuming things will start going wrong with that car left right and center.
