Testing ignitor

Hello everyone.. I just want to know how you go about testing your ignitor... If it can be tested on your multimeter... or just what? Any help would be great guys..

To test the ignitor you need an LED test light and have it connected to the car and check for the switching pulses out of the ignitor to the coils. another way without a test light is to swap coils around ad if the miss is still on the same cylinder then it will most likely be your ignitor. hope this helps presuming its missing.

Ok, sounds interesting, where would i get one of these devices from?

Cause the problem is either the ignitor.. or the crank angle sensor. Next step is the c.a.s.

you can probably pick them up from a parts store like Autobahn or supercheap its just a test light wityh an LED instead of a globe. if your cas was crook most likely the car wouldn't run or would cut out.

I've had an ignitor drop a channel. Ran quite happily on 5.

Another easy way is to remove the plugs from the coils one at a time and see which one doesn't effect the running of the car. The swap the coils between that cylinder and another one to confirm it's the ignitor and not the coil.
