Hi All,

Just bought a pair for <$150!

This probably means they do standard front rotors as well.

Hope this helps

NO AS i did say in other POST.they have them for 350 Z & not standard + it would be silly not to get SLOTTED ROTOR`S & they have EBC pad`s,to so you have no worries as of now & ,AS other`s PAY silly MONEY for someone to do there BRAKE`S when you can do it far far CHEAPER THEN they think WITH NO HASSLE`S good luck cheer`s chuckie.

Hello All,Well some GREAT new`s for series 2 owner`s,I have been Talking to guy`s at RDA perth,as they found some EBC front PAD`S which are DP1671,So i went in & had look at ROTOR`S & looked at front rotor`s off Z350,so i pulled front rotor off & fitted one on to see what & if it would Fit,well they do so i order a set,RDA954S,S is for SLOTTED,so today i have FITTED them on & EBC pad`s,ALL`S good so far have to do 200/300 km`s before you can really find out what there like, but so far iam very happy with what i have done.HOPE THIS WILL BE OF HELP TO ALL SERIES 2 OWNER`S,& IF YOUR IN PERTH PLEASE PM ME IF LOOKING FOR SOME,cheer`s Chuckie. FRONT ROTOR`S RDA954S NISSAN 350Z .

Chuckie,

How have your rotors and pads been?

So just to get this straight I need;

For Series 2 Stagea FRONT-

a) Front brake pads - EBC DP1671 (?$/ pair) or Maxi stop DB7648 ($70/pair) and

b) Front replacement rotors - RDA 95S (s=slotted) (?$/ pair). Fit Nissan 350Z (non Brembo). Standard non slotted not available?

Both are direct fit no mods at all?

A)YES,B) RDA954s,not 95S never tryed to find standard. :D Brake`s ARE GREAT ,no worries at all has made big difference, much better + i fitted BRAKESTOPPER to,yes all with out mod`s rotor`s are close to caliper but i think it`s ok,you can see when you do your`s,you may say it`s cool to,but may take few mm`s off each to there own,OK PRICE, well now pad`s i got at trade & was asked not to post as it may upset, but i shall PM you,i got quoted $220 by RS73 in group buy which is great price,RDA954s is only one i asked about as i would only put SLOTTED on,as i do drive hard & love to give car good clean out :( .& you would see the difference in them to none slotted,i will try to get some PHOTO`S take sunday & post them up so you can see,but i really do think it`s money well spent as i had said before i think the slotted & very good pad`s make the difference .

Iam also having 32 caliper`s sorted out retapped to 14mm,new bolt`s & will try to fit EBC`s aswell,& may be then compair what`s what between 2 setup`s,iam also waiting to get R34 310mm setup but that is not really going to be fair as there bigger rotor`s,they me be put aside for 30 when i do it.BUT will post up all i find so it`s easyer for all to get sorted,

i shall let you know on some dogbone`s to fit 324mmGTRV spec rotor`s later on which will still fit on with 17in rim`s which would be the way to go with RB30 set up.any way GOOD LUCK if you have any more QUESTION PM me ,cheer`s chuckie.

just thought id add this in for any s1 owners that cant be stuffed looking around for different stuff or just plain and simply cant be F*%$ed doing there breaks them selves

Brakes plus in frankston are doing my car on saturday and they have quoted me

$314 for pads all round

$39 for brake fluide

and if i need my rotors machined $75 per pair

no time and no hassle = priceless.

they also assured me my breaks would not be a problem at all.

ok so turns out there were a few issues ...

total cost: $923.50

work done:

pads all round

both rear disc's machined

Flush and new fluid.

two new front rotors

both rear calipers rebuit as they were seized up (i already knew this as it was making a terrible noise. guess from the lack of driving it)

lol i know what your all gonna say could be half way to a brembo upgrade... meh sh!t happens.

Chuckie,

Are you saying that RDA 954S FRONT will fit Series 2 Stagea WGNC34 without mods?

I thought Series 2 FRONT had 290mm diameter rotors, and these RDA 954s off the V35 skyline/ 350Z touring non-brembo are 296mm on front?

No machining required? You said that they are close to the caliper, so the offset is correct also then?

Maybe a few photos may clear it up?

Interesting find...

If S2 Stagea comes with front 290mm rotors from factory , as long as the hat height is similar, the 954S might fit even though it's 296mm, providing you have ample of space between original rotor and the caliper. 290mm to 296mm increase is only 3mm larger on all radial direction. it's not much...

That said it solves the problem using R33 Gtst front rotors which has the wrong 'offset'. The hat height on R33 Gtst rotors is 53.75 or sometimes 54mm depending on manufacturer (e.g. DBA vs RDA), while the 350Z rotor has a hat height around 49.2mm or 50mm roughly, which from the above fitments look like the right offset for Stagea!

Scuse the ignorance but could I buy a set of 350gt Brembos and fit them straight to the M35 Stagea (not ARX) without any mods/trouble?

I did similar conversion on my V35 early model non-brembo which uses the same rotors sa non-brembo early 350Z.

No problems and fits straight on - fitted by professional brake shop.

I would imagine M35 would be able to take that upgrade path providing your stock M35 came with the non-brembo early 350Z rotors front to back.

Finding a set of brembo caliper would be a challenge as they don't come up everyday and pricey.

Hi All, just a quick post on S2 brake`s,i have set of 32 rear rotor`s & calipers, rotor`s do fit with no mod`s at all but i will need to MOD backing plate to fit caliper, just fitted some new FRONT pad`s i have picked up from CDA & will let you know more on then soon ,few photo`s of rear rotor`s & caliper`s ok ,as you will see 32 rotor is few mm bigger then standard but it fitted ok with stock caliper,i will bolt rotor`s back on over easter weekend & take few more photo`s & mod backing plate to suit 32 set up,as you all so see SLOTTED ROTOR`S ,i will check what pad`s i have for these as well ,cheer`s chuckie.post-36964-1239007353_thumb.jpgpost-36964-1239007437_thumb.jpgpost-36964-1239007551_thumb.jpgpost-36964-1239007632_thumb.jpg post-36964-1239007796_thumb.jpg post-36964-1239008011_thumb.jpg

R32 GTR rear came in 297mm standard with hat height around 62mm.

Sydney Kid's 1st post on this thread mentioned having to machine the od by 5mm, bringing it down to 292mm.

RDA / DBA now have 350Z non brembo rear which is 292mm with hat height around 63mm so this can be fitted with RDA7657 instead of RDA908 and save the mocking around with either modifying the backing plate (dust shield) to fit larger rotor or to machine down the OD to fit under the stock backing plate.

Sorry for multiple replies, I used to follow this thread and just got back on to it and find these findings quite interesting!

Fits no worries

Not my car though

gee, even for a brembo sized rotors, they look puny for the body of a huge Stagea...

makes you think if the non-brembo factory brakes are under-designed or not...

hmmm.... *dreams of AP Racing 8pot front and 6pot rear Z33 upgrade kit*

*curses failed lotto ticket*

    • Don't do it if your gearbox box has already having syncro issues. The short hifter will put a greater load on them. If you must I remember Nismo did a shorter shifter, with the top part being physically shorter and the part that went into the gearbox was the same as stock. In saying that I've had a C's short shifter (I think) in mine for many years, which was given to me as the previous owner was not sympathetic to the gearbox. Thus forwarned I was careful and had to modify my normal changing style. You have to be super accurate with your clutch and shifts
    • Well, after a week of daily driving and having to crawl out between the wheel and the side intrusion bars. I got myself a quick release setup. I went with an NRG short hub and Quick Release with some cute heart cutouts on the pull tabs. Nice and matchy matchy with the rest of the interior accents I have going on.  The only downside is the total stack height even with the short adapter is longer than the old HKB boss kit. Luckily I had some adjustment left on the column so move the wheel away.
    • stock shifter with new bushes, springs and cup will improve it. Gktech do all the bits. The opinion as the years have gone on is the redline is not great in old gearboxes.
    • Hi all   what short shifter do you use on your skykine r34?   my synchronous does have a problem and i was getting huge delay and grinding sound between 2nd and 3rd, did put shockproof red heavy stuff and it is great now/ no issues   would in your view short shifter screw this up?   people seems to suggest/ use cube short shifter and there is standard and premium. Seen review of premium as much better and less play. Thoughts?
    • Yeah, there's a bit of a density and friability difference between pebbles and any of those other things. Silicone will definitely float in oil and so will be mobile enough to move around. Although, again, if it is upstream of the filter it really shouldn't go any further. I would only ever worry about silicone when it is in places downstream of the filter. Upstream of the pickup is a whole 'nother matter. We've all seen what that does. I have seen the most abominable crap settled out in industrial gearboxes, trunnion lube systems and the like, without any sign that any of it has touched anything in the machine. Just chilling in the bottom, waiting for the inevitable operator error that causes the whole machine to need to be dismantled for repairs.
