ok so just to make sure im on the right track. i have a series 1 Stagea. i can either bolt straight on R33 GTR front brakes and R33 gtst rear brakes or R34 GTT front and rear? (yes i know the brake lines would need altering and that the dust pan more than likely needs trimming)

are these direct bolt on or do they require brackets ?

i havent checked my brake pads yet but if they need replacing then it might be worth doing the whole lot in one go.

******edit*****

ok i just read early in the thread you can use R33 GTST front brakes is this correct? this would just require a full set of callipers and rotors (obviously lines and dust covers as above)

if so i might look at R33 gtst callipers and possibley slotted rotors and brake pads front and rear.

yeah also with the stagea calipers (Front) they use a 14mm bolt you will need to get a 12mm bolt that is 52mm long i think and also get some bushes made up to locate the bolt inside the bigger hole... if you talk to tim at [email protected] and tell him what you are doing he will be able to make up a set like he did for me.

so you can use the R33 GTST brakes on the front basically straight bolt on (apart from the bolt, the lines and cutting of the dust cover) anyone currently got these on there stagea?

i dont want to send the money getting some only to find out they wont fit. i have a feeling my brake pads are almost worn, so im considering doing an upgrade, while i have to do the brakes anyway.

I'd say you have to change your brake pads anyway, Damo - AFAIK the Stagea pads and the pads for the 4-spot calipers (whether R32GTR/R33GTSt, or the R33GTR's) are not even remotely close.

ha ha yeah i figure that, what i mean is if i have to spend the money buying new pads i might be better off buying the full brake upgrade :D but if i need new pads in the very near future then ill probably just buy pads to get me through the next 12 month use. if i need them in like 6 months time i might go the bigger brakes.

hmmmmmm where to find a quick 5k to do things to my car :D

oh and i assume that my autech wheels would clear the GTST brakes if they fit the GTR items.

yeah so you need, R33 GTS-t Rotors, R33 GTS-t Calipers, R33 GTS-t pads, new bolts with bushes and remove the flare fitting inside the front calipers to take the larger banjo bolt. thats it. with the rears the standard r33 lines are too short so i got braided ones made up for it.

Thanks

Curt

Hi Guys

I am looking to upgrade my rotor on my car from R32GTR rotors (296mm) to R32GTR 324mm ones.

I am trying to find the right adapter plate to use for the stock R32GTR calipers.

Does any one know if an adapter plate for 300ZX Z32, from the US would be compatible with the R32GTR?

Now I know I don't have an R32GTR but the M35 is a perfect fit for the R32GTR caliper and rotors and these are already mounted on my M35.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Cheers

Andy :D

We are looking into making up some adapter brackets so you can use 324mm rotors with your stock Stagea calipers or even 32/33gtst caliper. Tried the brackets currently on my 32 but it hits the ball joint so have to reposition slightly.

I am in a similar postion to Andy. I currently have R34GTT brakes on the front Of My S1 - a straightforward fit - but I have a set of R32GTR sized rotors (actually DBA4000 slotted) which are 324mm. I had a set of brackets that worked for a cefiro but they won't work on my car so I could be interested in a set of Bubba's brackets if i don't find some locally.

Hi all,

Just to let everyone know we've now started getting through our first batches of QFM pads to suit Series 2 Stagea Fronts!!! After we sent out the paid pre-orders yesterday, we've not got 1 set of A1RM ($179) and 2 sets of HPX ($119) left. These will go quick, but there is a heap more on the way!

Quick run down on the pads:

HPX: Bendix Ultimate equivalent, very low dust and rotor wear

A1RM: Ferodo DS2500 equivalent, again, with relatively low dust and rotor wear given the performance

To order, just swing me your details, full name, delivery address (preferably a work or business address!!), contact number and email and I can fire you through an invoice with direct deposit details, or else credit card over the phone is also available. Shipping Aus wide is $8.

As usual, any questions, feel free to give us a bell, 1300 884 836, or email sales at gslrallysport dot com

Regards,

Greg

Bubba, let know how you go with this.

I'll keep yas posted via this thread. Initially they will be for series 2 C34's but if there is a series 1 owner and an M35 owner in Perth that would be willing to help adapt to their cars then please, shoot me a PM ;)

P.S. jetpilot, those A1RM pads sound good - might give those a bash on my 32 when I wear out the DS2500's!

    • The MX5 has had some annoying rattles in both front doors over bumps So I installed fancy pants door bushings, which stopped all of the rattles with the windows up, but........with the windows down there was still rattles, so after some googling,  and a chat with MX5 Mania, I got some new door to glass weather seals, all the rattles, windows up, or down, are gone now Shout out to MX5 Mania, the weather seals were on sale, and when I head to Dural to pick the up they even fitted them for me for free I did see a "really" nice Blue NA sitting out front   and this Black NC PRHT that looked like it has sat in the sun for its whole life and never had a wash, the clear coat was non-existent, an it looked horrible, really horrible, but, it had a nice turbo kit with over 200kw, the thing went like a cut snake, bagging the rears through the gears and dosing like a champ 😍 But, as I've always stated, I am keeping my NC na, I'm happy with the current power the car makes In other news: MX5 Mania do a drive in drive out turbo kit, the only minor additional part recommended for boosting my car, as it sits now, is a oil cooler, and that bonnet vents are definitely required for track use Aftermarket version look a bit to "racecar" spec I wonder how Focus RS bonnet vents would look?????
    • Paint is only structural when applied to the outside of Chinese and Indian cars. Otherwise it should never be present between mechanical joints that were intended to be metal to metal. Pain slips, slides, cracks, compresses, and add thickness that wasn't intended to be there. It comes firmly under the category of "just no".
