Hi Troops,

Im finally going to complete my brake upgrade and plan on doing the rear brakes.

Just need to Confirm;

- That all R32 GTS-T,R33 GTS-T,R34 GTT Rear Calipers + Rotors are 100% the same? As I tracked some cheap R32 rears down.

- Will I need to change the Master Cylinder, to accommodate the extra capacity of more pistons? Ive read a few people have, a few people havn't. Im considering not changing it if theres no real need to.

Thanks, Aerron

I looked into this. On my S2 I have a BM50 master cylinder, so will you probably. That's the same as R32 GTR non Brembo cars and is actually a bigger bore than R33GTST, so should be ok to stay with it

Thanks for that man. I also have a S2, so fingured crossed I have the same.

Now to get my hands on some brakes :D.

I can't remember where I got this info and it may have been posted on here, but might be useful to people.

So there isn’t much difference between the Brembos and the std Nissan R32/33 GTST calipers and R32 GTR callipers

for series-1 stagea, leave the rear brake calipers alone

just add metal brake lines, Im using bendix 1144 pads, cheap at $50 axle delivered

for the front, Ive got metal brake lines, slotted rotors, new QFM A1RM 780degree track brake pads, $119 axle delivered

and installed yesterday 4-pot R32 GTR sutimoto front brake calipers

brakes are simply amazing now, stops on a dime

well i've decided that stock s2 brakes are no match for the tassie roads

had a good blast on scottsdale road and as i was coming down the other side i was loosing a lot of feel, heaps of fade and a real soft pedal (think i boiled the fluid too)

will either have to source some 33 rotors or a set of 34 calipers (which are really hard to find in tas :action-smiley-069:)

That definitely sounds like a fluid inadequacy though. Doesn't mean the pads/rotors/calipers aren't up to the task, because at the moment the weak link is definitely the fluid...

Quite possible the fluid has never ben changed. Get some Motul RBF600.

i've bled the fluid on one wide when i tried to put on what i thought were r34 callipers and it was clean coming out, may not be top stuff but its clean and pretty new

road in question is this one: The Sideling

a guy from the thermofluids lab at uni said that he would skim my pads for me if i take them off :D

looks like a good option for now, until i can source some 34 callipers

i think i may make up a bracket as i may be able to get one fabbed up pretty cheap

does anyone have a cad file for r33 callipers to gtr 324mm rotors?

think someone around here mentioned that they had one

cheers if you do, may be able to work out a cheap alternative to brembos

It might just be standard fluid in that case, which is pretty ordinary performance wise, but it's definitely a fluid inadequacy on some level. Even 'Super Dot 4' (or 5.1 as it's better known) is pretty ordinary and is really only designed for heavy duty application like towing, it's not really performance orientated...

The stuff that we use and recommend is the TRW GP600 Dot 4 Racing Brake Fluid, and is $65 for a 1L bottle. Good for 312 degrees dry, or exactly the same as Motul RBF600.

i'll give them a few bleed, a guy in the workshops at uni said he would machine my stock rotors for me for free :D

so that should hold the fort for now, looks like i'm gonna get some brackets made and run gtr 324mm rotors with the r33 callipers i have

Hi guys,

Not sure if this will help anyone but I got my front brakes on my NM35 changed today as the rotor had warped and was making the most irratating clicking and groaning sound with light brake pressure.

Got RDA954S slotted rotors and Bendix GCT Stealth pads and I have to say they feel so much better. Really firm bite and reassuring pedal feel. No shaking or wobble under firm braking at all.

If any one wants more info let me know.

aren't the RDA954S (machined down a little) the direct replacement for the C34 S2 front rotors???

I didn`t have to do mine,

& just on another note ,i have PM`D the GROUP BUY on brke line`s about sorting out replacement line`s for Stagea,

& as there a long setup he will get back & tell me what he has found, front line`s are 830mm long with block contector`s.

so hope to here from him soon,

cheer`s Chuckie.

PS i have set of 32 caliper`s retapped to 14 mm for sale if any one is looking ,as iam happy with stock pad size against clamping pressure,

not sure what to do guys

i've got r33 callipers, and r34 rotors :( (due to mistake by seller)

now i can either keep the rotors and sell the 33 callipers then buy 34 callipers (but 34 4 pots are really hard to find, $400+ from importmonster + $200+ of shipping)

or someone near me will sell me some gtr brembo rotors (324mm) for $250 and i could then make up a bracket to suit (have access to cad software and maybe to a computerised laser cutter :)) then sell the 34 rotors

or sell the 34 rotors and get some 33 rotors and some 12mm id pipe with a 1mm wall thickness

its for a series 2 rs4s - any help appreciated

thanks, Tom
