Hey guys, not really keen on reading through 57 pages of thread, just wondering if all 32/33/34 calipers, including brembos are a straight bolt on to the stagea, for the front at least?

What have you guys done about changing out the rears? I'm aware theres not much chance of finding an aftermarket rear rotor for the series 1, so my next option would be to change the calipers and get a different rotor to suit. Can i just buy a full set of calipers off any late model skyline and bolt them on?

cheers, Liam.

is urs a S1 or S2, ur best bet is for S1 is R33 GTST nd S2 R34 GTT, (front nd rear) minor mod of rear backing plate required, brembo's can go on but would take a lot more effort (backing plate off plus possibly adapter for caliper)

Solved the squealing fronts today. Since fitting the GTST the brakes squealed like all f*. Trouble is I am not sure just what fixed it, but was NOT the pads. I was donated a set of rotors and had them skimmed at Better Brakes Southport, (thanks Wayne) just to make sure they were AOK.

Wayne suggested that I get calliper lubricant and grease where the pistons hit the shims. Did that and fitted the skimmed rotors and the same pads and problem is fixed. But whether it was one or the other or both mods I do not know.

I had same problem as above, except I had no shims or paste/grease.

I ordered shims and paste. installed, problem solved.

Now only squeal when dead cold and wet.

Win.

The Bendix pads I used, which someone said were crap, have a single shim fitted. When I bought the callipers they were fitted with one and a half shims.???????????????

Hi everyone,

I have a 98 model S2 stagea and looking at purchasing a complete brake kit from a R32 GTR... As per the above, just wanting to confirm whether this will bolt straight on or whether there will be some modifications in order to fit.

I also have 18" deep dished wheels so need to know the minumum wheel size clearance in order for the discs and calipers to fit.

Thanks,

not idea, as you will need some spacers to take up the difference in bolt size (r32 and r33 run a 12mm bolt opposed to r34/c34's 14mm)

I cant get my hands on a set of R34 GTT and recently chaged the offset of my wheels...

From what I have read here most have been using the R34 GTT calipers without any issues or major mods...

It would be great if someone can confirm the exact parts that would suit - I'm planning to keep the rear as is, however with slotted rotors and new pads.

Cheers,

I also forgot to mention that I can also get a pair of R34 GTR V SPEC II NUR front Brembo brakes if that also suites.

Would these be the same setup as the R34 GTT brakes?

You'd have to be an idiot not to go for the NUR brakes if you can get them for a sensible price.

They will be a Brembo caliper with 325mm x 30mm rotors v's Sumitomo calipers with 310mm x 30mm rotors.

They are asking $1000 for the front pair - I'm worried that the rotor and caliper fouling on the wheels - they're 18" however with a dish therefore the inner part may only be 16"...
