At the moment i am under the impression that the panel filter in the air box will give better performance.

How much of a difference is there between the POD sucking hot air, and the panel sucking cold air?

Why doesn't the Blitz POD need oiling, as opposed to the panel filter - ie. what's different about the materials used?

I don't care about ricer sounds :D i am trying to decide between having to oil a panel every now and then, and a pod sucking hot air.

Thanks.

the K&N doesn't need oiling that often..

I hate doing it anyhow, as for the first little bit, it can sometimes drip on the AFM, and make it go silly. Just use it sparingly.

I'd only go a pod if you loved the noise.

The R33 sucks its air from the bottom of the airbox. Not like the R32's where it sucks the air from the top of the airbox.

Basically it makes it difficult to slap in a great big dirty cai.

The only way to get a pod sucking cool air is to put it in to a box. Kind of defeats the purpose, it could also be worse than the stock air box as you won't be sucking evenly through the pod with a box around it. Its stuff all though and I doubt it would make any difference.

I just changed from an HKS mushroom to an ARC airbox because the noise was giving me the shits... much better now tho I still can't figure out how the airbox is getting cool air as it has an exposed panel filter that lies parallel with the bonnet...

if you do like the sound, a heat shield can do wonders for a POD... stopping heatsoak to that corner of the engine bay works pretty well
