so nobody knows if gavin does the engine work himself?

Gavin's place is a normal mechanic-type workshop, he may assemble engines there but all machining, honing etc would be outsourced to specialist machining workshops like JHH, John White Race Engines etc. I have no idea who he uses.

I had my engine rebuilt at Peninsula Mechanical Repairs.

They have normal mechanical, but also an inhouse engine rebuilder and diff and gearbox specialist. They also do alot of 4wD work as well.

They have built quite a few engines including RB30ET's etc etc

They do send some work to a specialist machinist if required who comes highly recommended by alot of the guys in Redcliffe. Name escapes me at the moment.

they are actual sale prices too in USD, I've just converted to AUD and added an arbitrary

$11k to get car on road in Aus. Think it would be reasonably close ie within 1k provided there are no nasty surprises or labour charges for removing non standard parts.

Hmm hard decision;

Save 40K,

spend 15k on descent working 32gtr

then pour 25k into it

or

series 3 r33 GTR

im leaning more for the lata option, then again things can change in the next year or 2, Evo9 at $55k is fairly tempting plus im waiting for an official price on the next GTR

:confused:

Or, spend $10k on the car you have now, do say an rb30dett, loads of power both up top and down low. Put $30k in to shares or something, and in 5 years time buy a house, a car, a boat etc :rolleyes:

hey Cailan.. my mate has got a clean, nicely working black R33 vpsec he is selling in next month or two as he is sick of driving it once or twice a week (literally).. its got basic mods such as zorst, boost controller, and cam gears.. he wants low $30's for it... best value R33 GTR around.
