just a qiuck question what kind of symptoms would a cracked exh manifold cause

the crack is bout a inch long bout 2 mm wide near the collecter near the turbo exh flange where it has been welded it looks like its cracked on the weld

would this cause the car to be laggy it always has been with such a big turbo but i dont know how long its been there

would this be affecting the performance of the car???

cheers

yeah it does affect the perfomance... my ex manifold cracked in half (progressivley over 6 months) once i got it replaced (with another stock unit) the power difference was huge...

the symptoms i had were power loss and exhaust fumes under the bonnet...

yeah had those but must have been going on for a lomg time cuz i didint notice the power loss just thought i was getting used to the power

i thought that being a custom manifold it would be sweet but there was a shiot effort to weld where it had cracked so i filled the gap with weld myself she wont leak from there again

would this explain why i had terrible boost lag aswell??

If its cracked and actually leaking exhaust gas and pressure.

Your turbo will be alot more laggy.

I remember once when i had a loose manifold that was leaking a little, after i re-torqued it up to spec and stopped the leak. The improvment in reponse from less lag was incredible.

It will all depend on how much its leaking as to how much it effects your performance, but either way leaking exhaust gases are a bad thing.
