not my car but in the city on thomas street (between UTS and tafe)

was walking with a few friends and saw a guy and girl look suspicously into a jeep wrangler (the ones with the plastic top)

anyways, the guy unclips/opens the top and jumps in and starts doing something (couldnt really tell as i was still walking towards the car)

alarm goes off and he quickly jumps out and they both ran away

anyways, i just called the cops to let them know (i would want someone to do the same for me) ^^

I park there all the time....either that or right in front of building 10.

From your description they just look like a bunch of amatuer joyriders........and since the wranger had a relatively easy to remove soft -top it was a prime target.

Also you should have run after them pretending it was your car just to scare the **** out of them..... :P

im always around building 10, but usually walk there as its close and i hate parking my car anywhere especially in the city because stuff like this happens,

shonen which car is yours, ill keep a lookout for it whenever im around.. the only one that comes to mind outside building 10 is a white 34 gtt with stickers on it, auto. is that yours?

heheh probably not a gd idea to post where u park your car.. lol..

Hmm i guess, your car can get stolen anywhere you park, even your garage..

But city is gettin worse these days.. esp north area.. lots of stolen cars..

Nah dude that aint mine......I dont actually go to uts but park there occassionally when im meeting up with some mates at uts.

Far out that's where I go to uni sometimes.. I see that white one too parked outside the IT building.

That's dodgy as, I always thought the places around there would be ok... especially quay street too, seeming it looks like a street with lots of cameras on it.

I have caught 2 kids stealing an Excel of all cars on my way home from work. Walked past them while they were trying to hotwire it, completely fcuking the ignition in the procees due to the fact they were complete n00b's and hadnt the slightest idea what they were doing.

I grabbed a few passers by who I knew lived in the area and we went to approch them. They spotted us coming at them, bolted to a van and drove at us, nearly running us over.

Thieving pricks

lol i should have known since i saw your car when i met u to buy the boost gauge off you!! oh well i know now, so ill make sure no one steals your stickers :(

btw do u do IT at uts?

IT is for wussies. Engineering is the shit. I too have seen your car there ecl.

THATS IT, ecl's car is not welcome in front of my building anymore!!!!!

engineering guys are all irrational

Quite the opposite actually. We are the rational ones and are better at maths

funny you say that, as i hate maths, so u might be right about that, BUT i will still stick to the fact that there is something wrong going on in most of your brains, most irrational creations or anything stupid at uni is the cause of engineering students.

Naaah, it's the law students that get the shit stirred up on all legal issues. Engineers drink beer and invent (or so the stereotype has it).

and meanwhile, all the IT students browse internet forums

(another stereotype, which is more true for the workforce)

    • My idle is set at 950rpm though - Moving the timing around 20 degrees is not really what I'd call a calm idle. That said... neither is chop, by definition. The LS ECU likes to adjust timing to hold idle as opposed to air. It'd work, but generally speaking there'd be a discrepancy in the base idle and the IACV would want to move the timing around anyway to maintain said idle. I think I'm just going to keep the timing steady anyway. Preserve my engine mounts.  My aircon is now officially regassed. As the guy was reversing I noticed my reverse lights do not operate, along with my reverse cam. This is a bit distressing, because 100% of guides talk about which wire to connect to backup cams as "the goes with the [other color] wire". Often when doing conversions. Unfortunately the R34 colour wires aren't documented Unfortunately I had a T56 Magnum gearbox with it's reverse switch, which also isn't documented. Unfortunately there's definitely not documentation for people with both of these in the one car. Unfortunately I forgot. After many hours of this, I have a reverse cam and reverse lights again. The wire going through the trans tunnel to the reverse switch had broken. Upon inspection, it looks like this one wire had about 7 spade terminals and extensions in it.. for reasons I cannot possibly comprehend. I also spent the 750 hours required to clean up the wiring behind my head unit which now looks like this: This is a monumental improvement relative to what used to be there WRT triple gauges, head unit, traction control, wideband controller, and whatever the f**k OEM stuff still exists there in various states of connectivity/needed. Next step is to check in at the Exhaust shop to see/confirm how much clearance I have, to decide what mid mufflers or 'resonators' (which are just straight through, narrower mufflers) I can add and hopefully cut out a lot of exhaust leaks, pinhole, v-band or otherwise. But first step will be to 'take a look' before the next step.
    • Fark the AFM card and Nistune, Haltech Nexus S3, DBW, cruise control, flex fuel, dis dat.
    • It's most likely the bolt/bush where the cover bolts back wore and allowed cover to move forward.
    • Still haven't put the injectors and R35 AFM in so we can tune the bloody thing for the HG highflow it got mid last year! I think I can forecast the upgrade path to a bigger twin scroll, external gate, Haltech, flex setup, Samsonas, dis dat, etc will be .... a while away!
    • Should have taken that opportunity to slot in a twin scroll turbo setup. Maybe next time.
