Hi all, i need urgent help. my wipers just turn on themselfs after cleaning out my egine bay with the high pressure cleaner. the fist mark on the wipers dont work (ie slowest wipes) but the rest seems to be responding. they just turn on themselfs and its F**king annoying having them on while driving, this only occured recently.

i let the egine cool b4 spraying and i made sure i leave it there for like 2-3hrs b4 i start the egine again.

PLease help, i know it was not a good idea to spray water into the egine bay, but isnt that the best way to clean it?

any help would be great apprciated.

THANKS!!!

nope didnt cover anything, well that a stupid mistake ive made, but i think ive fixed the prob.

i found the motor that moves the wipers, unplugged the clip, dried it with the blow dry, and there's a relay close under, turned that upside down *water drips out* :S. dried that too, and now the fisrt wipers mark moves when i wanted to :P YAY!!! hopes it F**king stay that way, the missis got very PMSi when we were driving in northbrigde with the front wipers going while its not even raining. LOL NOW thats cool (wipers certainly ****ed up my night)

things that pissed me off at first is that none of the fuse were blown so i knew i didnt arc anything, just the water bloodly set a few things off.

BTW jason, these are my front wipers soo i think pulling the fuse on them during winter is a VERY BAD idea.

holy crap you guys are psychic..

i was gonna post the same kinda problem.

My drivers side wiper shit it self the other night. Doesnt seem like a fuse thing, but like its mechanically stuffed. I was going down the free way with them on, and the driver side just extended all the way over the edge of the windscreen.

Once i brought it back down, it doesnt actually wanna move any more. The other wiper moves as per normal, with the 2nd one dead.

Any ideas as to where i can get get it fixed/repaired?

Prob broke one of the arms (under the black plastic at the bottom of the windscreen) same thing happened to me about a year ago, easiest to take the bonnet off to do it (on an R31) but you can struggle with it still on, as i did (was about 9pm, and was going to rain the next day, and had no-one to help with taking the bonnet off...)
