your going to need a 4WD controller so you can make it a 2WD for the burnout Paul.... i dont know if its the right thing for a car such as yours, but a toggle switch would be ideal.... once its in 2WD the burnout will come really easy. I wouldnt suggest dumping it in 3rd as i think thats what has damaged the clutch in the 200 :( will find out soon enough though....

Once it gets more boost and a tune you will run 9's and it will be great to see it happen ;):) You just need to teach Stacey how to drive the car harder :):)

we have a switch....only used it on last two runs..10.5-10.3

3rd gear burnouts look the goods!!

car is already tuned for more boost.....its just that Jim turned it down to 28psi without me knowing. I could not work out why my MPH was down until i looked at the boost controller's peak hold value. When I got back to the pits i said to him "something is wrong, i can only get 28psi" he replied......"lets learn to walk before you run" lol Looks like we are shooting for 9's at Jamboree at Willowbank next month.

Hey ed, how did you do those funky thumbnails??

Is it automatic when you attach alot of photos in this new site??

Guess I could test it myself...

yep it's auto

got your PM, will email it tomorrow when i'm @ work

is 1024x768 ok?

i'm sorry?! i think she drove pretty damn awesome!!!!! what times was your gf getting in her own car?!

you know you come across as very sexist! stacey doesn't need paul to teach her how to drive a car harder! and us 'ladies' don't need to have a comp amoungst us.. we're more than capable of handling our own in a drag! so please stop with your very condescending and sexist remarks.

kthnxbye

Yeah I know that is who ran low 10s but I know the owner of UREADY and him and all his friends keep saying it is in the 10s now but he hasn't proved it yet <_<

Guest two.06l

evening draggers, just wanted to say thanks to all for a great day. What a fun and exciting day I had!! :) Thanks for organising Adam. Goals for the day were achieved......

1. wanted to do an 11....tic :)

2. wanted Paul to do a 10.....tic :)

3. wanted Twoogle to behave.... tic :)

Have been wanting to post a sincere THANKYOUto Jim at CROYDONS for his expert assistance and encouragement. The CRD tuning, suspension and overall drag setup, made achieveing the 10 for us a headache free experience.

Its a pretty special feeling driving back after a run and having Pauly and Jim cheering you on!! Not to mention all the other SAU pals who gave us encouragement all day.

Also.......Moanie......you are unstoppable!! What a woman!!. How many runs did you have? Seemed like you must have had the record for most runs?

Can wait till the next one.............STACE (DIRT is GOOD!)

hahaha... i think i had about 35 runs?!?! had probs in the morning, and when i got back out there in the arvo, i had to make up for lost time! :) top effort though stace!!! :) and congrats on that 11sec pass! :) i lvoe running twoogle! :) i'd launch and think yeahhh!!!! (hahaha.. i was dreaming that i'd take you guys on launch, even though you were only waiting :) ) only to have this unbelieveable fast car go flying past! :) was awesome :)

Thanks for the kind words Moanie.....for those who don't know Stace was involved in a pretty horriffic car accident about 6 months ago .....So for her to get out on the track and go through the traps at 120MPH in a 10 sec car takes some real guts.....I am so proud of her achievements with Twoogle and to see her out there again nearly reduced me to tears. If her old 60' times were on the money...ie. 1.690 she would have run a 10....but we must take things one step at a time to get her ability back to where it was ......she WILL be back but let's give her the time she needs.....

p.s. Moanie ...you have shared on your timeslip the fastest pass recorded by a low-mount GTR in this country....

ouch!!  didn't know about that, paul!!  thats another million thumbs up to stace for her efforts!!!  not sure if i'd be as courageous as that!!!  awesome effort chickie! :)  i can't wait to see you out there again! :)

She is currently the fastest Sport Compact female racer in Australia....and would love some competition.

anyone?

GTS4nMore mate your car imo is one of the nicest Skylines I've ever seen, I meant to have a chat with you but kept missing you

Does it have a stock RB26 in it or any mods?

Bret

Thanks Bret, Stealth is the way to go :)

It has an R32 RB26, Cam Gears, Power FC & HKS Priest exhaust. 233KW @ 4 Wheels

I was quite happy with the time considering it's using stock R32 turbs...

    • Lucky man, who owns it in the family? Any pics?
    • The engine stuff is Greg Autism to the Max. I contacted Tony Mamo previously from AFR who went off to make his own company to further refine AFR heads. He is a wizard in US LS world. Pretty much the best person on earth who will sell you things he's done weird wizard magic to. The cam spec is not too different. I have a 232/234 .600/603 lift, 114LSA cam currently. The new one is 227/233 .638 .634. The 1.8 ratio roller rockers will effectively push this cam into the ~.670 range. These also get Mamo'ified to be drilled out and tapped to use a 10mm bolt over an 8mm for better stability. This is what lead to the cam being specced. The plan is to run it to 6800. (6600 currently). The Johnson lifters are to maintain proper lift at heavy use which is something the LS7's supposedly fail at and lose a bit of pressure, robbing you of lift at higher RPM. Hollow stem valves for better, well everything, Valve train control. I dunno. Hollow is better. The valves are also not on a standard valve angle. Compression ratio is going from 10.6 to 11.3. The cam is smaller, but also not really... The cam was specced when I generated a chart where I counted the frames of a lap video I had and noted how much of the time in % I spent at what RPM while on track at Sandown. The current cam/heads are a bit mismatched, the standard LS1 heads are the restriction to power, which is why everyone CNC's them to get a pretty solid improvement. Most of the difference between LS1->LS2->LS3 is really just better stock heads. The current cam is falling over about 600rpm earlier than it 'should' given the rest of my current setup. CNC'ing heads closes the gap with regards to heads. Aftermarket heads eliminate the gap and go further. The MMS heads go even further than that, and the heads I have in the box could quite easily be bolted to a 7.0 427ci or 454 and not be any restriction at all. Tony Mamo previously worked with AFR, designed new heads from scratch then eventually founded his own business. There he takes the AFR items and performs further wizardry, CNC'ing them and then manually porting the result. He also ports the FAST102 composite manifold: Before and after There's also an improved racing crank scraper and windage tray. Helps to keep oil in the pan. Supposedly gains 2% power. Tony also ports Melling oil pumps, so you get more oil pressure down low at idle, and the same as what you want up top thanks to a suitable relief spring. There's also the timing chain kit with a Torrington bearing to make sure the cam doesn't have any thrust. Yes I'll post a before and after when it all eventually goes together. It'll probably make 2kw more than a setup that would be $15,000 cheaper :p
    • Because the cars wheels are on blocks, you slide under the car.   Pretty much all the bolts you touched should have been put in, but not fully torque up.   Back them off a turn or two, and then tighten them up from under the car with the wheels sitting on the blocks holding car up in the air.
    • Yes. Imagine you have the car on the ground, and you mine away all the ground under and around it, except for the area directly under each individual wheel. That's exactly how it'd look, except the ground will be what ever you make the bit under each wheel from
    • Yes, if you set the "height" right so that it's basically where it would be when sitting on the wheel. It's actually exactly how I tighten bolts that need to be done that way. However....urethane bushes do NOT need to be done that way. The bush slides on both the inner and outer. It's only rubber bushes that are bonded to the outer that need to be clamped to the crush tube in the "home" position. And my car is so full of sphericals now that I have very few that I need to do properly and I sometimes forget and have to go back and fix it afterwards!
