Hey dude your caps lock is on

Thanks nv033

we know that the MINES 32 in Japan has done a 10.60 with 25/30's.

Theo had the Aust record, 10.78 with 25/40's

Some guy in NZ says he has done a 10.2? with low mounts? (but this is only hear say)............so until we are proved incorrect or someone goes quicker......lets say DIRT is the fastest 25/30 :(

So unless anyone can provide any evidence otherwise, TWO06L is the fastest low mount-equipped GTR in the world?

Sweeeeeet. Congrats again. :O

I'm not sure that you're comparing apples to apples, I mean the Jap cars are running Nitto's and probably pump fuel. Then again their tracks are also alot slower than WSID as well.

Having said that, it in no way diminishes the results that Paul & Stacey have got with their car - at the end of the day it's a very quick time for a combination that would perform well day to day or on the circuit :O I think if Cabin/Autosalon are still doing that car of the year with track and drag testing it would kick some serious ass (with a slight change in suspension, tyres, fuel and tune for conditions).

i wouldn't call that spuring people on quite honestly!  And its not the first comment he has made with that theme... and like you can't stand half a logo, i can't stand sexist people!

As i have said previously, no comment was meant to upset anyone, and i did appologise if it had..... unfortuantely the internet doesnt convey how something is intended very well. It was only meant to be a gee up, but if you felt it wasnt i will keep comments like that to myself from now on...

now Merli, pics or ban i say!!!!!

I'm not sure how you can differentiate these things. If they want to run different radials, good luck to them, that is their choice. Pump fuel? That is not a definite and it is also their choice. And how do you quantify that their tracks are slower? None of these things realistically effect the times run in that different people choose different tyres, fuel and suspension. The main comparisons are there for all to see in so much as everything else is on a fairly level playing field.

Also, I recall a certain GTR from Japan a few years back attended a drag meet a Willowbank and couldnt run any better than its best time of 7.67 :(

That's exactly my point - being realistic. Nittos are a slower tire, pump fuel is certainly a different brew from VP gear and WSID is classed as one of the world's quickest tracks due to surface, prep, altitude, gradient and location. The goat tracks that they run on in Japan... is just that. You don't see the Japs providing an alitude corrected time for their runs, which is one of the most blatant aspects of their strip. Even the launch surface of WSID is a calculated affair, there's no way in hell that any such thought went into what looks to be a disused air strip/part time fire trail that they run on in Japan. There was a debacle about the legitimacy of the HKS drag car's best time, since it was done in "private testing"... Oh and wasn't it raining for the majority of time the HKS car was at Willowbank? That footage of Mr. K. doing burnouts in the R33 is pretty cool. Ideal environment for record setting yes?

Heh but I know you already know these things :(

I am not really sure how grouping the 'ladies' together is meant to spur someone on? if you thrown the gauntlet down and challenge me.. fine! but making remakes like that are really unnecessary and can feel demeaning! thats all i'm saying!

merli!!!!  what tha!!!!  when do you take pics like that!!!  was that at drag day!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Sure was :(

Not my fault that you have the infinite wisdom to pull such a face when a camera is pointing in your direction

    • All of your suspension bushes/bolts etc, should also only ever be tightened when the car is sitting with full weight too.   IE, jack it back up, shove a heap of stuff down so you can lower the wheels onto so the car is "on the ground" but you have room to get under it.   It's why when properly done, you should be able to remove the shock and spring, but the arms won't go to 100% droop. If you don't do the above, you'll destroy your bushes.

    • These arrived today! Sadly I'm going to probably be smart and enjoy the car as is over the summer/sunny period and save the ~2 weeks downtime it'd take to swap the heads over and tune later in the year. Maybe. It's going to be pretty damn tempting seeing these bolt on funs just sitting in storage when they're ready to go. There's a non-zero chance I end up @The Bogan'ing it.
