I went to nissan today to get a set of S14 brake pads, as I have been told they are the same for an R33, but the part numbers were different. A closer inspection showed the backing plate was identical, but the actual pad itself wes different.

I have attached a sketch of the brakes.

Now what worries me, is the angle of the brake pad, and that there is effectively less surface area. Has anyone else gotten the original nissan items?

Should I order the part specific for the R33? (it was like $10 difference)

Forget the factory stuff.

For R33 GTST the Bendix Pad numbers are DB1170 Front and DB1220 Rear. If you add ULT after these numbers you get the very good Ultimate pads. You can pick these up at many places. Shop around for best price. Probably around $100 for front and $90 for rear.

They stock parts for a car not even sold here? Curious! Might need to remember Nissan itself if I ever need anything for my 'line

Yeah, Blackburn nissan had the pads for an R33 in stock... about $138 i think....

Some dealers will get parts in for you too, just a matter of trying...
