If a day at Eastern Creek can be arranged for either the weekend before or the weekend after I may be able to arrange a mexican invasion of some very quick skylines.

I've PM'd Drunken about it but if the invitation is open to us to attend this I would be very interested (and may be interested in doing OLT as well)

yeah mate invitation is always open to los mexicanos.

rock on with your c0ck on i say. or should that be fang on with your wang on in your guys case?

You will not be dissapointed with the day aaron runs. plenty of track time, no screwing around, and the carnage cup is awesome. production car rules so quickest cars start from the back. 8 laps, 1 pit stop. lots of glory!!!

I will have to get my self into gear if you guys come up.

What exactly do you do in the pit-stop??

Also - do you need a cage for the OLT does anyone know?

One of the cars wanting to come is Ben from Racepace here in Vic. Down here this car is lapping Sandown and Calder only 1-2s off V8 Supercar times yet is only running on R Spec tyres. In a reverse grid race he'll still be in first by turn 1. lol

don't need a cage mate. just a roadworthy car :D

pitstop works like this.

3 open pit bays. pit lane opens on lap 3 and closes on lap 6. you drive into the pits, chose a (hopefully empty) pit bay, hit the marks and come to a dead stop. The pit bay dude will then count 10 seconds (or if you have been a bastard to him previously, or he thinks you are doing too well, 10 slowww seconds) then he'll release you providing it is safe for you to go.

strategy comes into play because if the slow guys a head of you pit early then you get some clear track to put in some good laps, then you can pit later and rejoin in front. you don't want to try this though and find every other bloke had the same idea. Then you have to queue. not good.

hope you guys make it up. Ben's car would be a sight to see. last time I was there it was a great race. Nathan and I started off the back of the grid (me second last, him last). I spent the first lap holding us both up trying desperately to keep him behind me. realising that was not a good plan i pulled over and let him by. from then it was on. we both moved through the pack pretty steadily and after the stops he was up in second I think and i was back in 4th or 3rd. I had a spin though on the second last lap and finished 5th or 6th (out of 10). spewing. I had some great moves to boast about though... haha. went deep up the inside of a brand new 911 C4S at turn 1. the ol' red mist will make a man do crazy things in the name of glory.

I can understand that Dino. you should get out there on the SS. the dude from auto-motion was telling me that a lot of bike riders are too soft for OP GP?!! saying they all reckon EC is safer? I was surprised to hear that.

I've just had a crack at organising something at Eastern Creek but no go unfortunately.

They have a drive day the same day we are intending to go to Oran Park which is no good. I asked a couple of people who have bookings around that time but it seems like Porsche and Ferrari owners are too scared to drive with a bunch of Skylines! (Actually they said they always get fully booked so weren't interested in us.)

The Sprite Club are holding a Supersprint day on 26th. Perhaps someone who knows about these things can shed some light on whether this is worth chasing up or not.

I think we have enough interest expressed here to say it's a goer. I'll start a new thread with entry forms and the like shortly.

OP on a bike is great fun, mind you I only push at about 6 thenths. :)

EC has less walls close to run off areas in general and is great on a bike and a bit less confronting than OP.

They are the only two tracks I've had a ride on but I dare say any track is more fun on a bike than in a car. :)

Engine is being rebuilt atm and is looking good for being finished sometime in 2006 lol.

You guys are too slow. I'd already contacted the sprite club and unfortunately the EC website is wrong. The sprite club have a historics meet at Wakefield that weekend.

Who knew it was so hard to get onto a race track in NSW!

Just a question about this track day.

Are you guys racing racing or can a slow beat up cefiro with a novice driver come along?

If you're racing racing then I won't go, I have no insurance and don't want to write anyones GTR off cos I'm a noob and didn't know when/where to pull over to let them pass heh.

Would I be better off paying less and doing something like the wakefield track day and doing something at OP when I can appreciate it more?

Hey CC this will be a good day, the race we are talking about is an optional thing right at the end. The rest of the day is open sessions and instruction if you want.

OP is a great track but it is a bit tricky. If you are really unsure about it try Wakefield first it is a great beginners track, but if you are feeling brave give OP a go you will love it :P

CC like duncan and bobo said wakefield is a better track for a first go. no doubt you will be so addicted after that you will end up at OP day anyway. The carnage cup is just in the last session of the afternoon, it is entirely optional. but I reserve the right to gee you up and call your sexual orientation into question if you don't enter it...

j/k

haha, nathan is the master of the cup. no GTR cheating though mate. get the old girl out there!! although it may be a tad to nice to put in the middle of the rest of us!
