Hey ppl

I put new turbo in my car ITS brand and front mount, and went to test drive the car and car just shudders and goes nowhere as soon as it boosts over 3000 rpm, mind everything is standard apart from catback exhaust and pod filter...guy at workshop that fitted turbo says fuel pump cant cope with the power turbo makes. For reference this turbo made 320hp at wheels on 10psi, 360rwhp at 15 psi and 410hp at 18psi and on my car its set at 13psi and thats set by wastegate...so my question is does this above happen when fuel pump cant cope, and which fuel pump should i get for 350hp at wheels and are warlbro pumps any good...by the way im putting new clutch today (9 button ceramic extreeme brand), getting batmbl split front pipe and cat on monday and getting it tuned next week with wolf 3d plug and play computer so any thoughts are welcome...

regards

Goran

Problems in order as i read them.

1) Your running a bigger turbo with stock dump, need the bigger one fitted.

2) Your running a stock ECU and 13psi from a bigger turbo? Major problem

3) your running stock injectors, you'll be on the limit of thier usefulness and will need to upgrade IMO

4) You will also need a bigger fuel pump, walbro's are junk

put all your bits on, get a fuel pump then see how its all performing then.

You have too many things that you will address, and need to before a better answer can be given.

Why are Walbro's junk ? Less than claimed output, or longevity etc ??

Gary

on my car we were using it and around 250rwkw it the AFR's werent looking so good.

We then decided just to use the walbro as a lift pump and then use a Bosch pump with the surge tank.

At time of installation of the surge the walbro was checked to make sure it hadnt moved in the tank and it was fine.

Had upgraded power etc.

Back onto dyno... surprise surprise. AFR's totally different = rich as. I wasnt impressed thats for sure and im not the only person.

    • Update time!  The JZX110 had some maintenance needing to be done, so a lot of the seals with replaced to fix some oil leaks. Also used this opportunity to whack on a front mount that I'd bought some time ago.  I also finally got the rear lip painted and fitted.  I then got the exhaust done. It's just a catback for now. Custom made 3" stainless with a turn down. I could have a tip coming out, but it will require cutting the rear lip and possibly the bumper itself. So far I do like and it's made the car a little more zippy.  Close out with some nice pictures of the cars and a sneak peek of what's next.

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365. Scan of a magazine with the black R33 from 1996: Wayback machine archived page from May, 2000: https://web.archive.org/web/20000529061027/http://www.emotion-r.co.jp/skyline.html Option magazine with a few photos from the Cockpit Tatebayashi booth at the Auto Salon from various years: 2002: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=154&image_id=3507 2003: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=137&image_id=3033 2005: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=116&image_id=1831 In 2008 Cusco website mentions that the Cockpit Tatebayashi ECR33 was displayed at that year's Tokyo Auto Salon: https://www.cusco.co.jp/event/2008/12/post_735.html As of 2021 it appears that the ECR33 demo car ended up being exported to Florida, USA: https://rmcmiami.com/inventory/1996-nissan-skyline-r33-cockpit-tatebayashi-demo-car-big-te06-turbo-endless-brakes-lsd-450hp/ And finally here's Google streetview of the Emorion R garage in 2023 which is amazingly not only still there, but the showroom is still full of various parts in stock and funishings, etc.: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ttyEAZdZLyzermyT9 Apologies for nerding out a bit. I used to love doing this 20 years ago on SAU and got a bit nostalgic for a moment... 😅
