my brakes dont really have much stopping power. i have stock r32 gtst type m brakes. whenever i step on the brakes it makes sortof a grinding and clicking noise. the pedal feels really stiff when i push on it. the rotors look fine, no ridges. the brake pads seem to be fine, but they might be for a different car, because i found a brakepads box for a Y32gloria in the glove compartment. also one of the tension rod bushings is torn, will this affect my braking? i just recently bought the car. any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Take it to a very good brake mechanic (not just your local Ultra Tune) and get them to check it over.

Sounds like it could be seized pistons so it might just need a caliper overhaul, seals etc.

Have $500 handy with you :)

Check that the pistons in the calipers are actually moving in and out (not stuck in the caliper). You may need a caliper overhaul.

Also, a good quality pad will help.

(The Gloria, I think, uses tha same caliper as the Skyline, so it should also use the same pad)

The broken tension rod bushing will more affect handling than braking.

If it doesn't turn out to be anything major like a caliper being stuck etc then try a decent set of pads and fluid.

Infact if it's off the boat with the same fluid maybe it just needs to be bled.

I have r32 type m brakes on my cefiro and they pull up like nothing else I've ever been in and have great pedal feel. I use motul rbf9000 (or something like that) and project mu pads.

Mine is like this too.. However I have put this down too a leaky abs unit. Just check this first for leaks(my wiring loom to this unit wasn't even plugged in...)

Does anyone know if you can change straight over too non abs brake lines and do you need to change both the front and the back lines?? I reckon you would..
