There just not suited to high boost . There like a NA motor with a turbo on them.

Both are mortal engines and are a fair whack weaker than the RB26DETT.

That does it! I'm going out to get a stock RB20DET tomorrow and replace my weak handgrenade RB25DET, right after I fill my boot with wet cement and get those cast lead doors and bonnet made up.

240rwhp isn't bad for an RB20det, does it do the high 12 to confirm the power, shouldn't be a problem if its in an R32 given the power to weight, it should net that time without blinking on street tyres.

It was actually 250rw (KW) not HP I think thats about 350+rwhp though. To answer your question....The car hasn't run in this state yet and may never be run like it. Its a s13 Silvia with fully stripped interior....see pic below. The car will be for sale very soon as he, like me is buying a 4WD.

Its a bit of... RB20 = revs... RB25 = cubes.

Both make their power and have completely different manners...

I used to be a RB20 pure-ist... but by looking at the setup on a certain GT powered RB25DET with 280rwkw, I changed my opinion.

Btw: Cam: How much does he want for the S13?

I would be interested to know what boost levels were required to make that power. My aim is around 230rwkw on about 16psi for everyday duties, you can run a lot more boost through a correctly tuned rb20 upto 22psi probably but not for ever.

Clint, yes you can run over 20psi on a stock rb20det but the room for error is so tiny that its not worth it. Previously the car had made the same power with 21psi but now with some more fine tuning it closer to 18psi but I am not 100% sure. He drives it every day and has not problems apart from the wheel spin...read:Twin Plate OS clutch :D

Price for the car (Now with rear seat and carpet) is around the 20K mark but I am not sure exactly.

I think you guys got a bit carried away.

Mostly what i was saying is rb20 is a stronger engine than the rb25. its a known fact that rb25 have weaker rods than a rb20 does.

Which means you can run more boost without anything breaking.

Stock Internal wise i mean.

"Waits for the angry replies" :D

What do you expect when your first 2 posts on this forum contain......

"What a crock of crap. Every rb25 ive seen do more than 300 at the wheels has cracked a ring land or something like that.

Rb25  "

Telling a long time forum member his POV is a "crock of crap" is a great way to introduce yourself to the forum.

Add to this the fact you own an R32 GTS-t (no chance of RB20 bias there :D )

You keep mentioning the ability to run higher boost with a standard internals RB20DET, there's no need to run higher boost to make the power when you don't need to!? I rather 250rwkw on 13-14psi than stress a "internally standard" 80-100+K engine on 18-20+psi.

I'd like you to direct me to the known facts on weaker RB25DET rods? Not that I'm doubting your claim but I'd like the "known facts".
