I think the problem with the AntiSEVS petition is that in the past people knew that internet petitions weren't worth the paper they were printed on ... so they get a bit hesitant or won't even bother participating in one. it might be interesting to see what would happen if a magazine like hot4s or fast fours put something up about it ... hmmmm now what were their email addresses again?

WTF!!?!!?! That's f*cking INSANE:thumbdwn:

Such a waste of good stuff. I thought they had to take it back to stock for compliancing and then add the extras and re-comply it. Compliancing's gonna go thru the roof!!

Yep agree with Aleks. Definetely some polies are getting paid under the table for this one.

Surgprised so few signed the anti SEVS petition. Last time I looked it was around 370. Not much for whole of Australia.

I tried to sign the on-line petition but the website was playing up, and I must have tried it close to 10 times...

Maybe in their quest to shut down our fun they've sabotaged the web page so that it won't work when we try to add our own names... Maybe...

That's actually why I'm on this thread - I was looking for more info to try the website again, to see if it works this time.

The government did this years ago..basically they either put a ban on most imports or made it very, very costly to make the ozzy car industry flourish(something like that)...but instead over time the ozzy car companies bludged cause they didnt have as much competition and the australian made cars were years behind in technology compared to overseas cars....the government is pucked... I learnt that at school!!!! hehe!!!

something went funny with that site....I signed very early (i was like the 10th person) and 24 hours later there were close to 1000 sigs...

then it went down to around 370 (like you said) and didn't seem to change

I think you'll find the real figure is alot different...i saw it posted on SO many forums. Maybe GoldZilla is right, it's been sabotaged :)

    • Hi soviet_merlin, We appreciate your concern regarding this possibly being some sort of PR/Political hype, I assure you that is not the case, I wish we could claim something like that, but in this case, we merely reached out for comment on the basis of the outrage we too felt, as those heavily in the automotive industry. Ps. the original source in the social media post is CarExpert not CarExplore.    Best, CE.
    • Made a bit of a discovery, but while I was cruising, I randomly decided to test to see if it worked and it showed up on my IC7. The entire time I tested it before, I never thought to turn the ignition on. I only tested it with head lights turned on but with the ignition off. Huge oversight on my end. I’m a dummy. I know.
    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much
