its quite simple, nissans goal for the GTR was coming up with a homolgated street vehicle that could be successfully raced with minor modifications.

LOL...I wasnt aware that Grp A Touring cars was production car racing :P

They had far more then minor modifications...but i know what you mean.

Its up to the individual...i would love to have GTR toy car, but there is no way i could afford to do what i like to do with my car if i owned a GTR...so it will be different for everyone.

I dont think there is any real argument... the GTR is simply the better car.

Personally i could never own an R34 GTR, having seen the amount of attention they attract, i just couldnt own it....and i have little brother syndrome, i like trying to show up the bigger brothers, may only happen once in a lifetime, but me and my 2.0L will take that moment to my grave :P

But if you ask any owner of a GTR they will tell you that it's a money pit.

ask any owner of a Nissan Skyline and they will tell you its a money pit... not maintance wise but eventually that modifying bug hits you and your pockets are the first thing that gets in infected :)

 not doubting it **JaR**! But GTST owners are better off than GTR owners when it comes to modifying.

I heard you have to be careful if changing the rims with a GTR because it screws with the HICAS/ATTESSA is that true?

lol yeah that i'll agree with, simply coz its got a GTR badge prices are nuts :(

i dunno about rim sizes affecting hicas/attessa?? wouldnt changing rim sizes only affect the speedo reading like on any other car?

yes the 4wd system goes funny when the wheels are not same size allround

Yes i agree GTR's are a money pit..

there is so much u can do to these things that make it go bezerk

i have driven 32/33/34 GTST'GTT/GTR's

there is no doubt that the GTR is a superior allround car.

responds extremely well to basic tune ups.

but as every1 says breaking a RB26 is what us GTR owners fear the most

Break a RB20/25 ??? easy just go out and buy another 1

break a RB26????? not as simple for starters they cost 6-7 G's just the engine it self no turbos and add ons etc

but in the end

i'll never buy a GTST unless it was a 4 door :(

    • I didn't think about how a circle works before, dumb.  Before, I had .9mm restrictor bolts but I can't use these cause they were shorter aluminium bolts that just tear off their threads when tightening since the OEM lines are thicker than the shitty braided one that was installed previously. Now I use longer 1mm stainless steel restrictor bolts. I think the difference will not affect the health of the turbos, but I guess I'll have to drill out the main feed bolt as I agree multiple restrictions sound dodgy. The one that was installed with the braided line was just too short, but completely without a restrictive hole.
    • Tomei or Nitto, don't use the OEM one or Cosmetic ☺️
    • After cleaning up a rusty cooling system in a 33 gtst that's been sitting for years it seems to have cleaned out the head gasket too haha. It seems the Tomei metal gasket works without machining surfaces? Or put oem? Also should put an oil restrictor while the head is off? Thanks
    • Thanks, I definitely saw the more expensive options from Crank and driveshaft shop. Thank you for the D-max option.  Still hopeful someone has an OEM out of the box option I found that the 300zx NA Left drive shaft is a good match for the Right on the R33. https://www.gsplatinamerica.com/product/ncv53040 Just need to find Left CV for the R33, I cannot find any <=22" axles.
