I will be looking to get the Laurel complied very shortly, and have a few questions.

Where abouts on the Gold Coast would be a good place to go, and what money would they charge to comply a C33?

What parts would i need to do it myslef and how much would it cost me then to get it checked over and marked off as complied?

The car came in under the old 15 Year rule, will thinks like 8 Point Cage, Bride Seat, etc.... have to come out for compliance?

The car has an RB25 with usual mods, will the engine have to be mod plated to be complied? or does that only apply once i am trying to get rwc?

Thanks in Advance

Mark, Registering it as a 2 Seater does not bother me in the slightlest, that was the plan.

I know I could just get the Cage, Seat etc. Mod Plated although my reasoning for this question is for the fact that I will be complying it although not registering it straight away (unless you wanna lend me $1000  )

So as I said due to Mod Plates not being done until after compliance when i am getting a RWC for rego, will I have to take those things out to comply it?

Any help on any of the questions will be great.

Thanks Mark, Speak to you soon champ.

You won't need to remove those items to have the vehicle complied.........however all of the things you mentioned will require a Mod plate.......this will entail the vehicle being checked over by an authorised engineer to ensure that the abovementioned modifications have been carried out in a safe manner.

Compliance for a 4 door vehicle (such as a laurel) will cost you about $1500 to have it done RIGHT..........There are plenty of people out there that will do it for less.....some of which have previously retained the japanese seatbelts etc. (i assume they fit new ones and swap them back after engineer has signed it off)

I am a big believer in "DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME" as i will cost you alot more if you are dragged over "pits" at bundall and it is noticed your compliance is not up to scratch.......it will come back on YOU. (The engineer will simply say that it was right when he saw it)

Thanks Nico and Mark all this is a huge help!

Ok, so If i only want to get it complied at first I can drive it in with Cage, Seat, etc. and just pick it up when they are done, none of it has to come out? But when I want to register it I will then have to go and get a mod plate for cage, seat etc....

Is that right?

If so, Nico can you recommend anywhere on the coast to do compliance? And when you say $1500 is that drive in-drive out and does that price include or not include tyres?

Thanks again for your help.

Mark, the car gets here Tommorow, come down to Banzai Saturday arvie to have a gander

Hey Mate,

I can personally voutch for Innovative Auto Design in Spring Wood. The man to deal with is Dave he's an absolute champion. The turn around on my two vehicles was within 5 working days. Price was extremely resonable at $1300, cash, including the sign off. If anyone talks to him drop that andrew, from kudos or with the white ceffy, sent you.

I hope that helps,

Andrew

Rubber is not part of "15yr" compliance, although depending on condition it may be required for your RWC.

I hope that helps,

Andrew

Hi Andrew, Mark mentioned to me that you had alot of luck with your compliance, I got your phone number of a secretdrift signature but i couldnt get a hold of you. Thanks for the recommendation and I will definately go see them once Im ready for compliance.
